I show you how to factory reset a Toshiba Fire TV (smart tv fire edition) without the remote. We will be using the button on the TV itself. Hope this helps.

I cannot thank you enough for this video!! Our office had received this tv at the end of 2019. It stopped working around a year ago and I didn't know how to fix it, so I just left it. This week, I was determined to get it working in hopes to start playing music on it again, so we could give a good ambience when people are coming in and out of our office. I watched many KZfaq videos and none were successful. I called Toshiba and Amazon and neither of them were helpful. I read countless forums and was becoming quite discouraged. I actually started looking at new TV's to buy. I decided to try KZfaq one more time. I changed my search criteria a little bit and you were one of the first videos to pop up. Every step worked just like you showed in your video. Our office is sooo ecstatic that we now have a working tv!! Thank you times a million!! You have no idea how grateful we are. :) :)

For anyone who's remote works on the TV after factory reset but doesn't want to pair on pairing screen, just hook up an ethrenet cable to the TV from your router and use the app and it will refresh and update and go to the menu. Then unplug cable then use the remote to connect wirelessly

I brought this kind of tv a year ago and just set it up and discovered the pairing issue. Best Buy told me they could not help and I would have to pay for geek squad service to have it looked at. I explained the tv say I. The box for a year and I’m just finding out the tv has issues. They I called geek squad, and was hung up on . I found your comment and tried this , and it worked. Thanks 👍

❤❤❤Wow! only the logo would appear on my TV and it wouldn’t boot up even waiting an hour. I tried a whole lot of things other people suggested, but with this simple video I was able to successfully reset my TV to the factory settings, and now it’s on and working again! I really really really did not want to buy a new TV now, so thank you so very very much!

you saved my bacon....I had accidently stopped my remote while trying to fix alexa....the only button that worked on my remote was on/off....no one could help, short of tv technician or buying new remote...thank you so much for this video it worked just like you showed...and because I was already a firetv user it put all my apps back as they were before reset, perfect

Thanks. This is the only thing that fixed my remote not pairing issue. Toshiba support didn't even suggest this. They wanted me to buy a new remote.

I sure do hope you are still answering these comments because you have been the best and easiest to understand that I've found. The screen says Our remotes won't pair after the factory reset and reboot. They are able to change the volume and turn the tv on and off though. Any suggestions?

This is very useful, but what I need to know is: where can I get a replacement remote that can actually pair with my TV after a reset? My kids somehow completely broke my original remote, it is done, and all the replacement options I can find online say they are IR only and cannot be used after a factory reset. I'm not sure if I'll ever need to do one, but I'd like a remote that can work after one just in case I do need to!

Having an odd issue where remote works immediately following the factory reset, but WILL NOT pair. Almost as if every button works except for the home button to pair. Have tried many combinations of buttons. Any help is appreciated at this point before I lose my mind.

@@favourosondu5438 I fixed mine by plugging directly into router with ethernet. I had to go through the promts a couple times again and finally it moved past. Then i was able to use the app on my phone to sync the remote back up.

connect your tv to the wifi router using Ethernet cable then download the Amazon remote, make sure your phone and wifi are paired. Then you should be able to bypass the pairing remote screen .

Got a Toshiba 32LF221U19. Got it from Goodwill. No remote. I bought two replacement remotes from Amazon. The remotes will not work. It would not go past the Pair remote screen. I was able to do the factory reset and wipe the tv; thanks to your video. HOWEVER, IT STILL WILL NOT PAIR WITH THE REMOTE. Super fresh batteries. I am at a loss for what to do. HELP!

Hi, followed instructions for factory reset. Now I’m stuck on Searching for Remote screen. Tried 3 remotes - old one insignia which was acting up and basically dead , new replacement remote off Amazon , and insignia remote that I know works with another fire tv in the house. None will pair. I tried the suggestion of using Ethernet code to router and the Fire App to pair remote . The fire app pairs with the rebooted tv, but still cannot get past the “searching for remote” screen. Any suggestions? This is an Insignia TV. TIA

TV reset perfectly but the remote did not pair. Tried both "Home" and "3-Key" methods. I even tried to pair through the Fire TV app (Remote). Can't get into the Fire TV to provide wifi password so it's stuck there. Can you help a gal out? Fran from Dania. Do I need to buy a new remote?

Great although as you were refering to home button it seemed you had your thumb on the large round button....i caught it but was unable to the the little house ie home button watching ....up and going thanks
