Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video we are taking a first look at the Mad About Skin antioxidant cream and how this could add another level of protection to your skin care routine.
Antioxidants make wonderful additions to your skincare routine as they protect the skin from free radical damage which can lead to premature ageing of the skin and hyperpigmentation. There are so many different antioxidant serums on the market it can be hard to know which is the best for your skin care routine.
Recently there has been an increase in brands making comprehensive antioxidant serums which contain many different antioxidants for the maximum skin protection. When it comes to creating my own antioxidant cream I of course wanted to make it the most comprehensive on the market but also form it in a rich cream base to hydrate the skin and maximise the benefits.
In this video I want to share with you the madaboutskin antioxidant serum which contains all of my favourite antioxidants such as resveratrol, ferulic acid, vitamin e, pycnogenol, q10 and others to give your skin the most comprehensive protection.
Antioxidants Contained (Summary taken from Inci Decoder website):
Resveratrol - found in the seed and skin of the red grape (and berries), is a pretty well-known and well-studied molecule that has potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticarcinogenic abilities. Most of the studies were done examining resveratrol's promising anti-cancer properties, but as for skin care, it shows a potent protective effect against UV-caused oxidative stress as well as promising effects against multiple types of skin cancer including the most severe one, melanoma (as an adjuvant therapy).
Ferulic Acid - main job is to be an antioxidant - popularised by 2005 research that discovered that adding in 0.5% FA to a 15% Vitamin C + 1% Vitamin E solution not only stabilizes the highly unstable, divaish Vit C, but it also doubles the photoprotection abilities of the formula
Vitamin E - The major fat-soluble antioxidant in our skin. As a strong antioxidant it’s an A-player in protecting the skin cells from free-radicals that want to destroy collagen that makes our skin nice and firm. Because it’s fat soluble our skin just loves to absorb it (as opposed to water soluble things where we have to trick our skin to absorb them).
Pycnogenol - A natural plant extract coming from the bark of the maritime pine that grows along the coast of southwest France. The extract contains potent antioxidant molecules, mainly procyanidins and phenolic acids.
Q10 - It's an antioxidant found naturally in human cells where it plays a big role in energy production.
