Seems like those jumpers would add more resistance than the metal bars. Wouldn't the ultimate be solid copper wire same diameter as those metal bars?
@morejelloplease5 ай бұрын
There's a better chance of the bars losing connection over time which they have done. There is literally no resistance with these size jumpers at this frequency. Sure you can put copper in there or anything you want. You can replace the fuse with #6 wire. People have been modifying these maggies for decades. This is simply a nice matching set of jumpers to match the nice wires.

That more than anyone would ever need.

If there is any high frequency roll off it's not due to the speaker wire haha

@@morejelloplease Too funny! I just use the normal Canare.

Why not replacing by copper jumpers? Pure copper 🤔

Or bypass the connectors behind the panel to eliminate them from the circuit, there are several ways to do it.

yeah i think i used a .5 ohm to tame the 3.6 ribbons. just depends on your amp, room acoustics and tastebuds :)

What is the length of this jumper cable?

6" I believe you can have them custom made as well
@kevindillinger36995 ай бұрын
You could defiantly make those for way less. The only cost there is the banana plugs there is only about $2 if not less worth of cable there. I know they sell Canare and Mogami cables but what are there brand of cable made from.
@morejelloplease5 ай бұрын
Go to parts express and search banana plugs, you'll find over 40 of them, now find ones that are like the ones on the cable, not the cheap ones. those are $15-$20 for a set of 4. you'll need 8 of those. add tax and shipping and you're almost at $50 not including the wire, sleeves, custom embroidered labeling, heat shrink, etc. the wire is an undisclosed 8AWG cable that could me more or less than mogami and canare. I also have the canare 4S11 custom bi-wire speaker cables from worlds best cables (14AWG). I've tried several times to duplicate their cables, before and after the price increases and I couldn't. I can get close, and i've tinkered and built many cables (look at my previous video) and sometimes time is money. They have the best customer service and offer a great wire at a great price. Compared to other cable manufacturers, they can't be beat. They are exactly what most people need without the snake oil and fluff.

@patfrederick7327 Did you know my mcintosh amp, assembled in America, is using parts made from all over the world? I considered blue jeans cable. They were bland and over priced for what you get.

I kinda rolled my eyes when I saw jumpers for the first time. A lot of speakers that have the ability for bi-amping put a pretty cheap piece of stamped tin between the two posts which is only an adequate conductor. When I tried a pair I was in disbelief of the difference it made.
@morejelloplease5 ай бұрын
Same here, now I will not discuss cable break in directional cables or cable elevators LOL, but sometimes in certain situations, A difference in wire, 2- conductor, or even jumpers can make a difference. There's still lots of energy going through that tiny fuse and some guys will bypass that and claim they can hear a difference but I cannot. I upgrade my wire so that I know there's nothing left on the table. My ears cannot tell the difference, especially after a few drinks haha.

Are you kidding - must be right> There's nothing better than a short solid metallic (nickle plated even) jumper - even though I'm sure the jumper cables are excellent, they are not going to best the original jumpers.

World's BEST? That claim cannot honestly be made unless every cable on the market has been directly compared with them. So by definition they can only be assumed to be adequate and while we don't always get what we pay for the cost of world's best cables indicates they are not made from the highest quality of materials

Try them out for yourself, to me they are they best bang for the buck.

@@morejellopleaseit’s a brand name so they absolutely can say that - great marketing move. They could also express this as an opinion and be totally fine. I doubt, however, that you’re paying for much more that fancy packaging and a fuzzy feeling that your money bought you something superior (or I guess to nerd out and have the matching, fancy looking cables), but to each their own! I could also be totally wrong, and compared to cheap garbage cables they surely are superior

The worlds best cables on the carpet and a quarter foot after - the worlds shi-tt-iest crossover parts ever - in the speakers, not to mention extremely poor crossover design. With fuse, of course.
@morejellopleaseАй бұрын
On the carpet? I'm on the second floor. Don't forget the power going IN to your amplifier is also going thru a fuse. At the end of the day does it sound good? Yes.
