That's what I thought also. Since it's bigger than the basket so you have to mount it on the outside and, it's not able to reach it's full potential as a 12

@@chichidouglas5078 mounting it backwards doesnt hurt performance and in many cases i mount backwards to drop down that 1hz of tune cause i enjoy lows alot more but with subs like that mounting backwards will make it insanely top heavy forcing you to mount the box really well or figuring something out about that

@mark jones I know that it doesn't hurt the performance, but it limits your installation and enclosure options because you can make internal bracing to support the motor so it can face whatever direction you want. Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome, but, in my opinion, that motor can't reach its full potential as a 12", so why waste it on one.

While it nay be "cool" to look at, it was horrible in design. It has limited travel due to the uneeded amount of spiders stacked, and not enough surface area of the spiders, to allow proper axial movement of the coil in the gap, and It failed. Way too stiff of a suspension, and a large coil, with limited spider travel surface area and, with the motor force it has...no. Thats why it ripped the spiders from the landing. It needed larger spiders/softer suspension. Makes for a conversation piece though.

You can tell early on that the spider came loose. Thats what that noise was when it was clapping and you turned it down. However when you put 11k into it that section of the spider became a weak spot and allowed the coil to arc on the motor.

The biggest 12 inch is actually made by Orion. It's the 12" HCCA SPLX. IT WEIGHS 166.5 lbs. It also does a 30,000 watt peak or at least burp

Orion kicks ass! They've been in competitions for 30 or 40 years I believe. If Parker gets insane you tube money in the future he should do some reviews of what the big boys of extreme spl use for subs...incriminator, B2,crossfire, Sundown half ohm team subs, Rockford Fosgate s 19 inch woofer. Or he could inch up on the elite top of the line subs. I think 12 inch is a good all around size for a sub. Most get pretty low and still punchy enough for rock. Awesome magnet on that crazy beast. Two words Earthquake Holee. 151 db with one 15, just saying. That would be a very interesting review.

9331 watts 1.2 ohms at one point. Wow that is an amp punishing machine. Love the content. You are doing all the things I would love to do but cannot afford. EDIT: 11209 watts! Almost let the smoke out of that Amp. Shows Taramps makes a great product.

As a speaker moves the impedance changes. As impedance rises a amp makes less power.

It's impedance rise, as the music plays and different frequencies play the Ohms will change. The closer you are to tuning, the closer you will be to where you are wired. IE, Box tuned at 32hz amp is 3k rms at 1ohm u will get the closest to that 3k rms, if you are wired at 1ohm, but only at or around 32hz. The further you move from tuning the more rise you get, so playing a 50hz note in a 32hz tuned box you might be rising all the way to like 8ohms or more

Parker when you invert a sub you are supposed to flip the gasket over unless it has some goofie basket but most allow it, then it seals better and don't get that distorted gasket where the holes are too small for the screws.

Parker that thing is SICK!!. Currently I am trying to upgrade my two 10 inch Massive hippo XLs and I think the EM Audio 5000 watt 10s are the way to go. I don't want to break the bank and go NEO but running my two 10s and one American Bass 12 inch Comp Signature I have a total of 1.3 ohms being pushed by a Tramps MD 8000.1 So i put together a list of 12 inch subs that I think might work out. Let me know what you think.? #1 Trinity Tas-H12 (975 oz motor) $ 680.00 #2 B2 Audio XMv3 Rampage (1100 oz motor) $1049.00 #3 Incriminator Tyrant 12-D1 (1408 oz motor) $1149.00 #4 Orion HCCA121SLX (167 lbs. SUB) $ 1499.00 Due to the power of the 2 EM 10 inch I think my only option would be the Orion at 7500 RMS. Any ideas ? Mike
