At the beginning of this year, Josh tore down the Waterbox 100.3 Mixed Reef tank and turned it into a predominantly LPS coral tank- Torch coral, Hammer coral, Frogspawn coral with a few acropora and mushroom corals. This concept aquascape is all about the flow and motion that comes with the MP40 power head.

Hi Josh. You asked for feedback on what I’d like to see. I’ve really enjoyed your last 2 vids they are significantly different than what Victor does. I really enjoyed the level of detail you got into about the coral placement and the fine detail of the flow. I’d like to see your detailed take on other topics within reefing. I’ve noticed with WWC videos you tend to assume a fair bit of knowledge on the part of the viewer especially when pointing out corals in tanks. Maybe you could assume slightly lower knowledge in your viewers when talking about coral types and coral placement especially. Eg these 3 on the bottom are all mushrooms, they’re on the bottom as they need lower light. PAR levels would be around xyz, they do/don’t need target feeding. Etc etc For me personally after 2 years watching WWC and BRS videos I have a lot of general knowledge on all the equipment and techniques, it’s definitely coral placement and care requirements of different corals where the gap in my knowledge is. Thankyou for all the great content. WWC & BRS is all I ever watch on KZfaq. Jamie , England

@jdearel1 This is exactly what I was hoping for. Josh, your style of informative videos goes way past (this is the equipment, this is how we feed, etc). You explain the thought behind creating the tank, you talk about placement of each coral and why AND give us the name of the coral and fish. You even discuss why something wasn’t done for this particular tank and how you remedied that (no tangs but a ton of crabs). I think you know exactly what us reefers are looking for in content and you will do great presenting at RAP Texas. One question on tank, the green coral on the right side front that looks like broccoli rabe, what is that and does WWC currently sell it?

There are two considerations here for me to answer. If you have a cabinet that covers the bottom inch or two of your tank you won't see it...if not that would drive me nuts personally. And the easy cleaning ability that Reborn offers will be negated if you leave the sand. I say remove... it but do it slow and culture the reborn first.

@jdearel1
@jdearel1 10 ай бұрын
@@reefingislife it is very gently. But if you watch every so often things whip around. The goal is to produce enough flow to lift the waste into the drain yet soft enough for corals like torches and frog spawn. Blastos, mushrooms, acans, zoa's and other softeies fit into the same realm.

@jdearel1
@jdearel1 10 ай бұрын
@@reefingislife it's a long and skinny tank so I would probably position both of them forward and high opposing. That tank is probably fine with one mp40. However two will cover better than one even if low. We tend to set one at a low content pace and the other randomized. Example green and yellow. Start by setting the green with the other off for a few days . Keep in mind it will be low, you are only looking to see if you can find the capacity of your tank to handle the constant. Then after a few days turn the other on- set on yellow and start by turning it up 1 dot a week on the controller until things are unhappy. Then back it down 2 dots. Give it a shot
