Acid lowers pH, the lime should help bring it up. Just FYI.
@IowaKeith
@IowaKeith 5 ай бұрын
I know this video is quite old, but if you simply feed them your food and plant scraps, you wont need to worry about PH. Worm castings are ph neutral, and those types of worms are called composting worms. Most people who are into vermicomposting use those exact same worms. The worm poop (castings) are very valuable to gardeners. We call it black gold. Hopefully you are still running your worm farm and things are going good for you.

Great info Thanks for sharing. I'm new to Tennessee and last two night saw literately hundreds maybe even a thousand worms all over our property and tons were mating. Big worms but I am not sure what type they are. If I were to harvest some to start farming them how does someone harvest them and sell them to bait stores?
@marshallhurt8814

Them worms you see at night are probably night crawlers.I would bet a shoebox and gather up as many worms as you can.Then do what I do in the video it will work for that worm too.If you are wanting to do worms for bait shop you are going to have a bigger trough.Not sure what all you are going need to sell worms. You probably need a license to sell.Hope that helps you out.Thanks for stopping by to check out my video.

Hi Marshall, that's a fantastic worm farm. Do you have any problems with ants when adding food to the top of the worm farm? Here in Perth Western Australia, we have ants that sometime are a real nuisance. I tend to put the food under the soil so that there is less likelihood of the ants taking over.
