I learned this when drilling fence post holes with a hand twisting post hole digger… when it scraped rock…. The worms came right to the surface !! These worms look pretty lively… I would educate yourself,& others on “invasive jumping worms “ … they leave castings on the surface which deprives vegetation of nutrients at their roots. Great contraption “ The worm getter “ … thank you both for such a great demonstration !!

This is great worm information! Thank y'all for sharing this. We've only used our Worm Gitter you gave us a few times, but we're slowly cleaning up our pond so we can fish in it. Thanks for sharing!

I've been fishing for 50 plus years and I only recently heard of this. I made my own setup but the genuine worm getter is probably pretty darn good. Well I thought this was a lot of worm droppings until I tried it. I've got a big area where the ground is moist and covered in leaves that have been continuously composting for years. Well when I started grunting I swear I've never seen worm move so fast. I'm not kidding! Really nice worms were coming out and I could barely keep up with them. Not little red wigglers and not giant night crawlers just a really nice in between perfect worm. I think there must be a whole bunch of different kinds of worms cuz they are fast and when I mean fast I mean fast. Try it guys. This old Grunt videographer is right on the money. I heard about this watching a tube video but if I had seen this one first I probably would have gotten myself the genuine worm gitter.

Duke, my Grand Daughter is 6 years old and looks so like Serenity! This is something i would really like to try with the Grand Babies, but we are in Canada!

you can make one...they are about 540 mm long and the grooves are about 18mm wide and 18mm apart. The grooves are about 12mm deep and you can cut a blunt point on it. The diameter is about 24mm. This is the best design and use a hardwood...cut it out of an old broom handle with a grinder and give it a whirl...hope you find a good spot and Thanks

Looking good team, always surprises me how well your worms get out and gone, I'm sure it must have something to do with something that eats them because our New Zealand worms don't do that, I've tried right beside the composting area and they don't react 😀 I can turn stuff over and they are there, I wonder if it is because we don't have moles here and some noise they make when hunting? That's the only thing I can think of that you have different. 🍂🍁😎👍
@RuffCut3 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard....when the ground is cool they are slow and don't respond....I don't know if thats it but I have watched moles dig tunnels in worm beds and would not see them surface so the whole idea of mimicking a mole isn't correct...worms are just sensitive to vibration and they move according to their position in the burrows...either up or down...maybe you have a different species of worms...Happy you're back to work brother...be careful and Lord continue to bless you

@@RuffCut cheers Duke, we are coming in to winter at the moment :) but I'll have another go in spring, meanwhile I'll make a heavier rattle, I have a nice hardwood dowel offcut that should fit the bill nicely. Its really good to be at work again even with limited hours 👍getting better day by day . Have a great week, may the love of the Father be with you also brother 🙏
