We will make a worm rattling stick together just to show how easy it is to make one from an old broom handle within 30 minutes. Simple way to call up earthworms with a Worm Rattler and how to make yourself one. Great for getting bait for fishing or for your garden. This tool goes by many different names. Such as a Worm gitter, Worm Grunting, Worm stick, and a WORM RATTLER. This video is how to make your own. You can get worms by electric shock and chemicals, but you will damage the worms and they will possibly die. This way will not hurt the worms in anyway. Thanks for watching. My dad raised worms on and off for 40 years. and a couple years he had 250 adult worms and he would put 2&1/2 gallons of soaked and squeezed peet moss in a 5 gallon bucket he would test to see if mixing food in or just put on top and results was the same in feeding them. In 2 weeks the bucket was full to the top with almost 100 % worm castings. He sifted it and collected his worms and then the new babies and then eggs. Put the babies in one and it would take them about 3 weeks to do it but any way he could take worm poop and make worm poop tea and spray on the lawn and he had the green grass. His tomato plants was taller than his house and loaded with some of the biggest tomatoes I ever saw and the very best juicy tasting ones too

Great video! I kept thinking of an easy way to turn one like using a lathe. I was so happy when you brought out the belt sander! It's about like mine I have in the garage for knife sharpening. I even have some very coarse belts I've never used. Thank you so much! Now I need to make an excuse for when the knob comes up missing from the wife's dresser :)

That was a sweet bobbin-turned, worm charming fiddle-and-bow that you made! (You also made a ‘simple’ belt sander stand up on its hind legs and walk like a turning lathe.👍) In fact, the “fiddle” acquired such an accommodating grip-pattern, and such a nice point, ... that it could do double-duty as a vampire lullaby. 😄

I just bought Menards best 1" hardwood broom handle for $5.99 and came back here to check your measurements. It's a 1" like your diagram, but if I make the notches 1/2" deep like your diagram shows, that will cut it in two right? :) The picture looks like maybe a bit over 1/4" deep. I'll go for that. And thank you again for this video!

You can also notch out the stick, with a knife. It's faster and works just as good. The worms don't care about the size of the notch.
