This is so powerful to hear you unpack all the elements; biblical meaning and accuracy; arrangement and technical complexity, congregational suitability; singing skills and style to consider. Thinking about congregation key really helps me too. Lovely also you left on the misreading of the notes as it helps me understand the process of considering a new song. As a musician leading worship, how important is it for you to hear what the congregation is singing? Can you hear them above the monitors, etc?

It’s my favorite aspect of corporate worship to hear the congregation singing! People in our church sing out, and I love it!!

This is one of the most generic worship songs of all time. Its literally just Phil smashing together all the lyrical and musical elements that he's learned sells a song. He just found the formula to hype the average Christian listener, it's not actually spirit filled unfortunately.

Yeah jon Reddick did the same with God turn it around. It doesn't matter how they worship. Just that they're making a joyful noise and pouring their heart out to our Father.
