@@sparkplug405OK, seriously, JK Simmons was actually one of M & M's? He was in a Slim Shady game? You're sure he was the Yellow one? The one that sounds like the voice of Patrick from SpongeBob; doing an impression of an M&M? Because I agree that JK Simmons is an acting legend; in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies; or whatever he's in; because he's awesome at it. But I loved the part in this video, where his head is edited to look like the yellow guy. that was hilarious.

Well, you should feel proud that you're not the person who says (there are at least 3 per video): "I had this game growing up and it is great" That person is unable to distinguish nostalgia from actual "greatness" and they also are unable to realize that when they were growing up (just like everyone else) they had not played enough games to be able to distinguish between "kind of fun" and "good" We've all been there, but those of us willing to do some soul searching, like you and I, can admit to ourselves that while it may have been fun to play at the time, it wasn't really a good game. I was in love with the aesthetics of a SEGA Master System game I had as a kid, and I still love the wacky art style, and the 4 playable characters, but I'm mature enough to realize that it's an incredibly frustrating play experience, and not that good of a game.

When I was 6-7 years old I played the heck out of this game; I loved it. And yet, even as a child, I remember thinking, "The M&M isn't responding very quickly when I press buttons..."

This unlocked a childhood memory of playing this at a friend's house...it was a very hot day and I was so thirsty but too scared to ask for water and my friend would NOT let me have a turn...more repressed memories provided by Triple Jump...cheers, lads 😂

I'm certain that the PC version of this game is still at my parents house. As someone who was in the described age range and not aware of Crash at the time I played it, I thoroughly enjoyed this game numerous times even the math sections and don't remember having issues controlling it. Yes, it was trial and error and some sections are just unfair if you haven't memorized them and really tight in terms of some of the hit boxes, so I think a 5 to 6/10 is pretty accurate from an adult pov, but as a child it really was just fun. Still have no idea who those bikers are nor why you die when you touch the floor in most levels (other than for game design purposes).

You're not misremembering. The PC version was better. It still had basically the same level layouts, but the controls were way more responsive.

I had both versions as a kid. The PC version controlled significantly better. Unfortunately, I was playing it without sound, which meant the math sections (removed from Shell Shocked) were impossible.

I had The Lost Formulas version for PC as a kid but could never get it to work properly on our old Win98 computer at the time T.T Never got to play it at all. I never knew it was ported!

I got this game from a gas station when I was young. It was so difficult that it made me cry, I forgot about this game until I saw the suggestion for this video show up 🤣 the "uh oh" of the yellow m&m seemed like it was taunting me

But he sounds like Patrick from SpongeBob, doing an impression of Yellow. This game wasn’t that bad I actually enjoyed playing it and I’ve been playing a long time. I’ve seen games a lot worse like some of the crazy ones that used to have on the Atari 2600 when I was a kid.

I don't even need to start this video to know it is wrong. The Lost Formulas is S ranked, and Shell Shocked is the same game without math, and since I can't do math, it must be even better.

You might not know Cree Summer’s name, but you definitely know her voice. Aside from countless animated shows including Tiny Toons (Elmyra) and Kids Next Door (Numbah 5) she was Cynder in the first Legend of Spyro game, Mindy in Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland, and Auriel in Diablo III.

Fun Fact: The reason why the music in the game sounds low pitched is because people at Boston Animation had to compress the music and alter some music instruments or sound effects from The Lost Formulas, presumably due to audio CD-ROM limitations of the PS1.
