Giving stretch mark cream to a woman who gave birth to their oldest child is insane. A lot of women do through not liking their bodies for months after delivering a baby and gifting them stretch mark cream just reinforces the idea of them not being pretty enough

This is the exact reason. Men will never understand the mental issues we go through because our bodies changed so drastically. Most of us eventually accept it after a while but being gifted stretch mark cream would have sent me in a tizzy.

@@feofilakt9877that's like saying the Christianity orgined from Rome, where Catholics orgined. Christianity existed long before the Roman empire. And also treat The Word as scriptures, scripts written by different people. Romans was clearly written by the Romans. They don't speak for Peter, nor John nor Timothy. The Pope holds value in the Catholic Church only, other churches would not care less if he died tomorrow. I went to a Catholic school, my grandmother is Anglican, I'm pentecostal. All different segments of Christianity with very different practices within and outside the church. Catholics pray to Mary, whilst in some segments that is deemed blasphemous. I'm just saying that to treat one segment as the pinaccle of Christianity is ignorant and somewhat offensive. It's sad because the wrong doings of Catholic priests(not in this scenario) are often put towards all Christians as Catholicism is very media rises. Do research first

This is a message directly to James. If your woman spends 9 almost 10 months creating a baby in her body goes through bloating morning sickness possibly losing her hair possibly losing her teeth gaining skin tags all of the things that come with pregnancy and then she pushes that baby out of her lady parts. All while you have done absolutely nothing but get your rocks off, which is effectively what caused the woman to go through all of that anyway...... You better get her a gift for pushing your baby out of her who-ha. . . A birthing gift is so the man let the woman know that he appreciates everything she just went through over the past year and during delivery. Stretch mark cream is the absolute worst gift. He literally could have gotten her a watermelon and it would have been a better gift than stretch mark cream

I feel like so many cultures around the world do, have done, or did this, and in the west we're just so severed from the appreciation of life and community and women are so highly disregarded that it just sounds outlandish and over the top instead of normal or instead of thinking that birth should.be celebrated and especially celebrated over the top. It appreciates the woman and her having just given BIRTH and it also celebrates the life of the person that was born. Don't we all deserve to be lavishly cherished?

Not gonna lie, this episode had me really frustrated. (This is coming from a Christian, raised in a Christian household in The South here in America) The guys obviously don’t actually know what Satanism is, just what it has been portrayed as in popularized media. In my belief, if your trust in God is true then you shouldn’t worry about kids getting told about other religions because they should have CHOICE. Taking away choice is the way that will drive children from paths. Like I truly want to write a whole essay here because I’m truly frustrated on how this really just evolved into a serious conversation without previous facts + research included. I’m gonna end it here bc i’m not trying to do a whole bunch more in yt comments like that 💀

They have bible clubs in most schools i dont see this as any different

This!!! Too many people fail to realize that any idea worth its salt will not crumble when questioned or when an alternative is presented. It's the practice of placing certain ideas above questioning and shutting down alternative options that is dangerous because _that's_ how you get cults. This is a problem with all extremist ideology. I do get why people are extra sensitive about children since they are very easily convinced of ideas (especially when said ideas are presented by a trusted authority figure) but that's all the more reason to not funnel them in any one direction. Parents are some of the worst offenders when it comes to this since many view their children as an extension of themselves instead of the soon to be autonomous people they actually are.

Aristotle said true intelligence is being able to entertain an idea without accepting it, and being fearless enough to make the arguments he was making was very impressive. A lot of people (women) here are ranting about the stretch mark cream saying its disrespectful and its like giving a man anti wrinkle cream for his bday ect. The only issue i could honestly see with that situation was that it was a birthday gift and so soon after birth. Thats a little out of pocket as a birthday should be for things you want and to excite you. But as a general gift i dont see what the problem is. If my future wife gave me anti wrinkle cream as a gift why should i be offended? You want me to look after my body and to look good for as long as possible. That just shows you love the way i look and want to preserve that. Why is that a disrespectful thought. Of course aging is inevitable and theres nothing you can do to stop it from happening eventually, but that doesnt mean you should just say fuck it and not look after yourself and the person you love. Some women are obsessed with being offended. 1 even said they're surprised that the lady stayed with that man and had more kids and that she would have left??? Over that? Thats CRAZY. Other woman were calling james and fuhads reaction "disgusting". You guys have it backwards. If a man is buying you beauty products after you just had a baby there is literally NO ill intent there. We know you're having issues with your self image and want to help you so you can see yourself as beautiful as we see you. Because when you dont see yourself as beautiful it hurts us in the long run and its proved by your reactions. You think your man doesnt think you're pretty so you decide to leave him. When in fact he loves you and wants you to be the best possible you WHY IS THAT A PROBLEM? I might be the only one who thinks like this but idc. It needs to be said. If you leave your man over that YOU'RE THE PROBLEM. If my bm got me a gym membership and a anti ageing program after I've hit 35 and started to neglect my body how can i be offended? She's not saying im a fatass and ugly and that she's going to leave me because she thinks im ugly. She's giving me the tools necessary to improve upon myself (which we all should be doing anyway) and if im not a narcissistic selfish entitled ass i will see that as her wanting to preserve the man she's attracted to and makes babies with for as long as possible because why wouldn't she and why shouldnt she. We all would stay young forever if we could so theres nothing wrong with your partner wanting to HELP YOU be the best YOU for the both of YOU! Go get some self help ladies. You really need it if thats your mindset

Think the issue comes with the emotions and feelings (often negative) that women have around their bodies post baby. Society and social media also add pressure on women to return to their post baby bodies (bounce back diets etc or people losing the weight quickly being celebrated). Add in a whole bunch of hormonal craziness to that as well It's a huge change to the body, I know someone that almost immediately dropped all her baby weight from breastfeeding but still felt like she was a whale and didn't feel good in her body. I'm not saying that it has to be an ill intent gesture, but its a compex area for a lot of women emotion and body image wise. So unless you've directly had conversations and she's expressed the want for the cream or to tackle the issue, then it's probably best to not be something that is highlighted

Sorry for my long comment folks, I had bits to say lol. 1. The stretch mark cream birth gift is crazy in my opinion! For context, the birth gift was a trend that appeared after the discussion of mother morality and self care for parents came into question; so I think a lot of people do “push gifts” or “birth gifts” to celebrate the mother for surviving and kinda as a congratulations type thing. The reason I think the stretch mark cream was a crazy gift because in that situation, it wouldn’t feel like something to help maintain her health but rather a unsaid statement that the mother’s body must bounce back or she’ll be undesirable or “wrong.” Now, I know that’s not what he meant (or I hope so) but in a moment where her physical and psychological state is so shaky, that is not a good gift-no less 2 DAYS after. 2. As for the trash news, I loved the conversation! As someone in the US, religion has been a hot topic for centuries. Although we have things in law like separation of church and state, some instances people who seek to manipulate people with religion slip around the system. I honestly think the whole Satan club truly was just a sock-it-to-me moment to the organizations trying to institute things like Christian prayer and bible stories into the school system but it could be folks trying to gain representation of their beliefs; but in all honesty, I don’t think religion of any kind should be instituted in schools for the very reason people can be manipulated or abused by people in positions of power. For example, the documentary on Netflix called Keep Sweet, Pray, and Obey. That whole situation was not a representation of the whole of Christianity, but sadly many of the children (now adults-research the Lost Boys and the testimonies of the survivors) involved in that instance only learned of Christianity from a perverted version of the religion and connect it to the abuse. If they make clubs, it should probably only around high school and up; the only time I can see making concessions of students is like prayer rooms but only with the rules (because I know with beliefs like Islam calls for prayer sessions at specific times of the day).

For the most part they are in modern hospitals with sterile equipment and an excellent medical staff. I'm not trying to downplay the birthing experience, "I" just don't see the need to conjure up a tradition of gifting. "Push Presents," "Push Gifts" seems to be a fairly new occurrence. It may have decent traction where you live, but "I" still consider it as pampering the mother. If you feel different, that's perfectly fine. Respectfully.

I would love for one or both of them to look up the actual tenents of Satanism. I'm not a Satanist but i remember this from a bit ago and looked into it because, as i knew it, there is nothing inherently evil about Satanism. The Satanic Temple has been lumped into other "Satanic" cults etc. They actually oppose LaVeyan Satanism. While unlikely I'd love for them to see this and do a bit of research and circle back.

I was thinking the same thing. I was searching the comments hoping someone said this. The tenets of Satanic Temple are actually pretty amazing.

I know a couple who are apart of it and they're the nicest people I have ever met. She and her husband are some of the most open minded and sweet. They are very giving and non judgmental. If I had to pick between them and some of the Christian people I know for help, I'd choose them. The Christians would "pray for me", the couple would go buy me a pack of diapers and give me some money and tell me to keep my head up

This!! I’m so glad you said it! I think this club is going to be amazing! They aren’t going to be teaching anything but open-mindedness and how to think for yourself instead of what to think! I love how the name is going to draw a lot of attention (and controversy) and draw in kids who just want to be THAT kid, but ends up learning sooo much more. It’s absolutely brilliant and I’m elated that this is a thing AND it’s happening!!

@@SeventhHouseandOak I had to double check the location because I know a local school to me also had issues getting a club started until early this year. I was willing to sponsor it purely on the basis of the tenets and wanting the option to be available. I'm glad there are schools allowing for the club to exist as an option.
