What made me mad is that umpires didn't get into trouble at all for all of their mistakes. I know that we all make mistakes, but we do pay for the mistakes and so should they. They deserve the punishments for causing trouble for players. It's kinda bullshit that they can still be arrogant like it's not a big deal.

@@SiNNEi2 I don't know if they are arrogant off the court or as a person, but the way they treated the players after making a controversy call to me is arrogant. Of course, not all umpires are like that. Some of them was nice to apology, but most of the times I just heard them telling to players to respect their decision and brush it off by announcing the score. Even if bwf gave them the privilege to do that, it's still very bs way to handle it to me. That makes it look like it wasn't a big deal. I have had many controversies with my opponents in the tournaments as well because we self scored all the time, but I always apologize to my opponent for the trouble even though I was firmed with my decisions.

@@pham1020 Perhaps the word you are looking for is politeness, not arrogance. Being firm with decisions isn't arrogant, however sounds to me you cited them as being firm with decisions but could have been more polite =p

Idiotic comment. They don't deserve punishment. They are told when they make a mistake and they get a grade. Punishing them will not help at all. You can give them lower level games if they consistently make big mistakes but not for a single mistake...

Badminton needs a better review system for all calls. In these videos an instant slow re-play that takes less than 1 min could have awarded points correctly. Case where players were given points when they shouldn't have, means the technology is not correct. Umpires and BWF needs to admit fault and errors to make itself become a more reputable and credible sport

Some of these are indeed terrible calls, but quite a few are ridiculously close. Hard to blame the umpire when it takes a bit to see things even with slow mo replay.

He didn't fake the serve... he just moved with his racket head to the side and Goh reacted to it and that shouldn't be a fault. The rules clearly state that you can move after racket hits the shuttle. Goh was definitely wrong here.

@@gameothers2022 she touched the shuttle 2 times instead of 3 times, and according to the badminton regulation, when one player hit the shuttle 2 times in one continuous movement, then it's legal.

@@liangliangsong631 I researched the rules again thanks to your comment, and I've just known that it's indeed legal if the shuttle is hit 2 times in one motion. For those who are curious, here's the rule I got from a forum: 13. FAULTS It shall be a 'fault': ... 13.3 If in play, the shuttle: ... 13.3.8 is hit twice in succession by the same player. However, a shuttle hitting the head and the stringed area of the racket in one stroke shall not be a 'fault'.

I guess what Pranav J Chopra did was a double action unlike what Chirag Shetty does today. Chirag has a flow-stop-hit whereas what Pranav did was ready-move the frame- hit

@@ramprasadcr what I meant was that Jerry was in position and he switched his racket direction suddenly which should not have been the case, if one wishes to change the direction they should change the face of the racket' frame with the help of the fingers or wrist, not move the entire hand Whereas chirag has a flow, he stops and then hits which is legal.

Camera can record the problem but cannot challenge the problem by player. It's the highest speed sport, VAR is most necessary when compare with the others.

ビンジャオ選手って度々かわいそうな判定されるよねアンセヨン選手との試合で（韓国開催？）ビンジャオ選手がアウトジャッジして、チャレンジしたら映像だとアウトなのにホークアイは全然イン判定にされたりしてた。動画もそうだけど、納得いかないような内容なのに猛抗議しない当たり人柄の良さを感じる、真面目なんだろうなって。

The flick serve against Goh was fine. Good job umpire. Others are a bit trickier, hard to see in real time.

Umpiring badminton is not easy. I played in a social grade where the action was not all that fast but one day I got asked to umpire a much higher grade match. And made quite a few mistakes - the losing player was not happy but he was the one who asked me to umpire😂😂

The racket *can* cross the net, after hitting the shuttle on the correct side of the net. Which is what appeared to happen.

its actually very difficult to make these calls as the players in pro leagues are very powerful so the shuttle travels at unfathomable speeds, that makes it very difficult to make calls for in or out, but this is all the more reason bwf needs to add more review systems to surveille the matches as its just upright disrespectful to leave the decisions to human eyes at this level

If you pause the video and watch the shuttle position at the point of contact, the feathers which would be hit first in this case, would actually be on Shi Yuqi's side of the court, therefore not a foul. Rule 13.4.2 It shall be a fault if in play, a player invades an opponent’s court over the net with racket or person except that the striker may follow the shuttle over the net with the racket in the course of a stroke after the initial point of contact with the shuttle is on the striker’s side of the net. Though this would be a very hard call to make in real time.

BWF needs an overhaul of its umpiring system. Way too strict and often harsh on the players. Needs to be a lot fairer, more time given and stop being so petty/arrogant.

There no point in arguing on some of these mistakes as human error is possible as its hard to detect. On such cases it is better for the players to keep on playing without losing the calm

There are 2 reason terrible judgement happen. 1. It is just that Umpire or Line judge cannot clearly see the shuttlecocks due to too fast. Challenge system is existing to solve this issue. I hope ,in the future, challenge system is utilized for judging over net fault or touch net fault as well as line judge. besides it, each country working on training to increase the ability of umpires is also mandatory. 2. Patronizing specific players of self-country, especially the country where the tournament is taking place. This should be expelled.
