Knuckles is my *favorite* character from the Sonic series. And just like other game characters, he has his share of flanderization. From Jerk Sonic, Obsessed Amy, Coward Tails, or Idiot Knuckles. Anyways, I'm a 90s kid and I wanted to see more of the character. So, in middle school, my parents bought me a subscription to the Archie Knuckles Comics. Of course I didn't know the meaning of the words quality or incest (Julie-Su) yet. Movie Knuckles by far is the best portrayal of the character. He's an echidna warrior, super powerful, and a bit naive. I don't hate the Knuckles show, but it definitely needed more of the title character. And I like the supporting cast of characters. I didn't think much of Wade before this series, but he's grown on me and I hope he adopts Knuckles as his younger brother and keeps those mechanical gauntlets. Wendy is the most endearing character. As for Wanda, unless they fix this character, I want to see less of her. (You owe Chris Thorndyke nothing, Wolfie.) As for Jack, I'd like to see him return with Fang the Hunter. At this point, I'm used to media exclusive characters overshadowing the game characters. I've read the Archie Sonic Comics. 😉 I don't care what anyone says. I *LOVED* Episode 4. It's off the walls crazy. I loved all of the game references and especially the Sonic '06 references in the rock opera. And I'm so happy to find more people who appreciate this episode. Not going to lie, Knuckles definitely should've made a physical appearance at the bowling tournament to support Wade. And we don't have to worry about people freaking out about his appearance. At least two people thought he was a costumed mascot. Overall, I've learned to genuinely love the Knuckles show for the messages it sent its audience. Friendship, loyalty, betrayal, and victory.

The only show I would be ok with humans interfering would be Shadow because they are in his story and I would like to see what Maria was like before she died.

This seems to be a common occurrence with Sonic adaptions, [non-game] characters that are introduced in said adaption more often than not ending up eclipsing the original game ones in some way plot-wise. Each execution and reception of it varying. (And if more Sonic characters are introduced passed Sonic 3, I imagine it's going to get harder and harder trying to balance the live action humans with them.)

I won't say the Knuckles show is the worst of the Sonic media, but it is a letdown. It's baffling that the trailer, the promos, and the sneak peak clips are all false advertisement. The show should've been called Knuckles & Wade or vice versa (Wade & Knuckles). Episode 3 was definitely the worse with Wade's sister, Wada Whipple being THE worst character of any Sonic media to date, I truly hope she won't make any appearance in Sonic 3. The show also felt a bit rushed as Agents Mason, Willoughby, and the Buyer aren't given much development making them uninteresting characters. Which is honestly a miss because Paramount could've had Willoughby to be an apprentice of Robotnik who seeks revenge against the Sonic characters for what happened to the doctor after Sonic 2. Or Mason and Willoughby could've been the SCU'S (Sonic Cinematic Universe) Scratch and Grounder, Boco and Deco, and/or Orbot and Cubot. There's a lot Paramount could've done with the human antagonists, but they squandered it. I will say I do like some moments with Wade, such as in episode 4, Him willing to have her sister killed (cause she deserves it), and him assisting Knuckles in the final episode. The show's main theme: The Warrior is a catchy song (though Paramount NEEDS to stop using licensed music too much), and of course; the references and easter eggs. The ONE thing Paramount DID right with this show: Is that they release all episodes at once at launch. Imagine if they release each episode weekly. Think of the responses and reactions after episode 3. My overall verdict: 4/10

All they would have had to do is call the show Wade & Knuckles which would have been more honest but also been a good reference

Well, idk what to tell you, I surprisingly like the show, I didn't even notice that until some mention knuckles weren't in it much, I can understand the limitations of the ken stuff and I think that's where I can forgive it. Wolfie, you going to read this amazing book Lara-su comic, Ken finally has it out.

Knuckles has Prime beat by default, as all time and investment wasn't spat back in our faces. If people are gonna apologise for Sonic X, then they're gonna have to do the same thing here. And at least with Knuckles it's one Sonic character vs several human characters, not one human character against several Sonic characters. They also could've given Knuckles the Picard or Disney+ treatment; shit all over him to elevate the "new and better" (9/10 self-insert) character, but they didn't. Those who claim Knuckles was barely in this show (Kotaku) are all filthy liars. Given the budget Paramount likely gave them, he was in here more than I thought he'd be. Prime wasted a whole year of my life that I'm never getting back. This was harmless fun that could've been a lot worse. Easily better than any of the crap on Disney+.

I personally loved the ending to Sonic Prime, but Knuckles was truly a bit of a let down. Focused way too much on Wade, BUT the ending of episode 5 and the beginning of episode 6 made me SOB!! The 1st episode being the only one I really liked.

Wade in Sonic 1 was a good amount of screen time for him. Having him in 2 was more of a, "hey, let's see what Wade is up to" moment. Havent watched the show but Wade is not a character to be a lead.

I can honestly say that this show made one of the biggest mistakes in Sonic History and that’s making the human a/the main character. It’s one of those things that makes me question why the movie universe had to be live action to begin with. Just let cartoons be cartoons. As much as I love the Sonic movies I still have my ups and downs about some of the concepts. I didn’t watch the show, but hearing how disappointing it is and that it’s not even about Knuckles kinda takes me out.

The show seems to think that bowling is a hilarious pseudo-sport and that the concept of having a tournament with coverage is funny. ESPN has been covering bowling since the 80s.

honestly i think this show was just for clickbait material while we wait for the third movie, where im guessing is where the whole budget went to but yeah this show was disappointing, not bad just disappointing. i think after this Paramount won't make a Spinoff series about the Sonic Movie Universe ever again, man does Sonic TV Shows not have been really good lately besides Sonic X and Sonic Boom. i just hope someone makes a Rewrite video of what the Knuckles show could have been.

You did explain your background on saying why you don’t think the show is funny, but I think you were too harsh overall. Yes, the show was falsely advertising what it was about, but Wade being Knuckles’ main foil should’ve been enough to ground expectations IMO. I thought this show was really endearing and funny, though like you said, it is subjective. Even if Knuckles wasn’t on camera 24/7, the show still carried its weight (I’m also one of those ppl who will get more attached to characters if they are funny moreso than sappy). Thus, Knuckles and Wade had a great dynamic together that made each of them a better person (IMO Wade getting the bigger focus is because he actually needed it more than Knuckles, who already had a big arc in movie 2). I will also counter your argument that Knuckles was static in this show; he did have an arc of his own, even if it was smaller than Wade’s. Knuckles’ arc was the opposite of Sonic in movie 1: it was about loosening up his warrior ways in everyday life (he still taught Wade how to be an echidna warrior, but moreso in spirit and willpower than in strength), and by hanging around Wade in a lower-stakes adventure, he could more easily invest in Earth’s culture and make friends with others. By the end, he’s happy enough on this new planet that he’s ready to call it home and protect those that he cares about, having achieved a purpose beyond the Master Emerald. It may be minor, but IMO this was necessary to give him better motivation in fighting alongside Sonic and Tails going forward.

I thought the Knuckles series was okay, still I hope this isn't rise and repeat of Sonic characters getting sideline for someone else otherwise these spin offs aren't worth watching,but with Paramount meger with another studio and with the third movie success , then maybe they'll get more budget for the CGI scene's

Yeah, I didn't liket the show that much either. The first 2 episodes were pretty good and funny. Second one being a little mediocre but there were definitely times where the antagonists were stupid, they made so much unsecure exits, and missed lots of opportunites to deliver blows. Starting episode 3 it felt like "what am I watching". Sonic Prime was actually really good, it was amazing, and Knuckles was very enjoyable in all universes but this knuckles was not so much.

This series sucks but it doesn't change what the films are. They're not perfect but they at least gave us a much better look at the characters than Prime which is just ridiculous and cringe. Knuckles is a mighty warrior in the movies while he's just an idiot playing sports in Prime.

You know this reminds me 0f 90 like Happy ending ... I think they focus on SM3 because it big deal since Shadow is big star and mine favourite i think Paramount is saving for the best . Knuckles name was no doubt used for marketing draw purposes. I don’t wanna believe it was anything malicious per se. Just misleading to get the movie universe/Sonic franchise fan viewers. And they succeeded. The defenders really misunderstand why this series is underwhelming from a mis potential lore growth perspective. No offense to anyone that really likes this to show. The literal expectation is that the show is all about Knuckles, and how they could have expand Knuckles world. We always knew Wade would be heavily involved for a buddy comedy adventure. But what no one expected was the plot being centered all around Wade, and that is the core issue. Knuckles was literally reduced to a sideline small character in his own series, whereas Wade is the literal star of the show. And the whole plot comedy around his character brought nothing new or interesting to this universe. It’s all subject to personal comedy tastes, and how much you care for Wade in the first place despite being such an insignificant character. All this show did was made Wade more relevant than he ever was until now. Your opinions were very fair. Honest, and not all hate. That’s all one can ask for most here.

a show that treated him with respect and not some dumb guy. kunc was a warrior who completes his goal of turning wade into a warrior. kunc also finds a place to belong something he didn't have in the beginning of the show. kunc isn't a gray stu he needs help because he underestimate his foes. wade has a complete arc and becomes kunc best friend. wade is what kunc was treated like in the main series but kunc gets him early game self back. we even get kunc background in a fun musical so the show can have kunc looking great the whole way through. this was a great show for movie kunc

God I love how people only now are complaining about everything bad with the movies through their complaints with the show, I've been complaining about flanderization, bad writing, jokes only being pop culture references and the human focus since day one and I'm guessing the next movie's gonna have all these things but no one's gonna complain cuz Shadow's gonna be voiced by big chungus wholesome Keanu Reeves cuz no one's gonna realize all these criticisms apply to the movies as well.
