Well if it becomes a triple threat match, it'll be The Rock's own fault, because the one on one match should've happened years ago, and The Rock had multiple chances, but he would ALWAYS choose Hollywood instead, which state does show where his loyalty lies, and well at least with it being a triple threat match between Roman, Cody, and The Rock the match won't be so predictable, and hopefully Cody will end up winning this time by pinning Roman Reigns, and then they could always set up a one-on-one match between Roman Reigns and The Rock later, but till then The Rock would just go right back to Hollywood like he was going to do anyways, because Hollywood IS his home.

CM Punk doesn't need to win the rumble to face Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 40, they are on the same show, also he hasn't earned to win the Royal Rumble, if he wins it, it'll show that he was just handed it instead of doing anything to earn it, he needs to win a match to get into the Elimination Chamber match and win it so that way he can earn his spot to face Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 40.

I think what killed the Royal Rumble was the fact that they announced 25 of the 30 for the men and 23 of the 30 for the women entrance before the rumble took place. Isn’t the whole concept of the rumble to be a surprise

I think the idea of announcing at least a number of the superstars is to be able to draw. There aren't many matches on the Royal rumble pay-per-view and there has to be names included. But I definitely think that everything shouldn't be so obvious.

@@damiennichols4628 I agree, announcing at least 1/3 (10 entries) of the field is ok. Having a big name like Cody or CM Punk is ok as well. You need a major star in the rumble.But anything over 15 in my opinion is too much.

I was actually surprised to see John Cena enter the 2008 rumble match. At the time, I thought he was gonna be out of action for months due to his shoulder injury.

Melina's return at the 2022 Royal Rumble match was upsetting because she was the number two entrant and got eliminated under a minute. It's sad because Melina is a former WWE Women's Champion.

Same goes for Rey Mysterio in 2013 where he got heavily booed out of the building because the fans were expecting Daniel Bryan. What's embarrassing is that Rey was a babyface, and babyface shouldn't get booed, meaning nobody care about that vanilla midget.

I remember watching 2017 Rumble and I was really hyped for number 30. When it turned out to be Reigns and the audience started booing I also welt almost an overwhelming feeling of disappointment and one question was echoing in my mind, that being "Why?!".

2012 was a very underrated Rumble. Ricardo was a hilarious entrant. Then you had Cobra vs Socko and Road Dogg. That was a fun overall match, with the Karma debut, being the best of all.

WM season revolved solely around he and Reigns. Day 1 Lesnar won the title. 3 weeks later Reigns costs Lesnar the title at RR only for Lesnar to win the RR, then Lesnar won the title back at Elimination Chamber, and then they main event WM where the match is like 10 minutes. Literally no one else in that time mattered. Lesnar: "no one cares about these big move spots in a match. All that matters is who is the good guy, who's the bad guy" -and that's also why you have a bland Reigns who shows up 3 times a year, and Lesnar who used to do nothing but 3 dozen suplexes as his only move.

Yeah I never really got all the hate this got other than him being part of the final 4 and eliminating KO (who a lot of people really wanted to win it all). He should have entered at like 10, lasted for 15 minutes, gotten a few smaller eliminations, before being thrown out by KO. Though I would say a lot more people were pissed about Brock being a surprised entrant and winning it all, especially as so many people had seen that coming.

Ricardo didn’t come out in Del Rio’s car. He drove a much older and more beat-up car as a contrast to the nice cars Del Rio drove. Also, the fans were even chanting his name! Not even close to one of the worst surprise entrants ever. Bob Backlund was great too and was one of the first ever surprise entrants too IIRC.

Michael Cole, the epitome who's only real claim to fame was getting rid of good ol JR Jim Ross and the king Jerry Lawler by backstabbing them both countless times over the years, just so he could have the main spotlight on him, Cole can't even hold a candle to either of Wrestling's greatest announcers, bring back the dynamic duo

I think it may have been John Cena's most recent Rumble match appearance, but when he reprised his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick I was disappointed. Sure seeing the gimmick back was nice and all, but John had been on TV recently at that point and with all the theatrics around the surprise it should have been something monumental.

The Godfather entering the rumble and getting knocked out right away sort of became his "thing" The same way every year we would get the "Dolph Dangle" where Ziggler would repeatedly go over the top rope and hang on... or Kofi and how he'd be thrown over the top rope but avoid elimination some way or other (though granted he has failed at this recently).

8.) The 2012 Rumble was pretty decent for me. Spots such as Santino vs Mick Foley were surprisingly entertaining, entrants from Jerry and Booker were genuinely nice to see, and surprises like Jim Duggan and Awesome Kong were a nice bit of nostalgia for long time fans, but the rumble was kinda lackluster from performances from Ricardo, and joke entrants like from Michael Cole. 7.) Bob Backlund was one of the best WWE champions ever, but they took his heel character as a joke for way too long. 6.) Nia has improved somewhat since she returned, but it doesn’t change the fact that her rumble return was a disaster. 5.) Both of the 2022 rumbles were just proof that WWE needed to desperately change. Nearly everyone who entered those two matches from Ronda to Kevin were done dirty due to bad booking. Personally, I’d let Sasha win for the women, and Drew win for the men to go after the WWE championship from either Bobby Lashley or Big E. The universal title can still be fought between reigns and Lesnar, either way. 4.) Ohhh… Dolph Ziggler. Hopefully, no one else will book you dirty again, now that you’ve moved on. 3.) I think everyone wants to forget the “big dawg” ever existed, including reigns himself. 2.) As much as I like Ronda, her 2022 comeback should never have happened. 1.) What was the point of Shane in the ring after 2016 again?

It wasn't Bob's entry that got him on this list. It was the goofy way they booked him as a joke in that match. Wasn't he their second longest reigning champion at like 5years? That's a legend that shouldn't be a joke for only a one time return.

Surprise entrants work well when it is a real superstar who has been out with legitimate injury for a while (see John Cena in 2008 or Edge in 2020). If Big E were to somehow return in 2024 that would awesome too. An unexpected entry can also be good if it is a legend who actually still has the ring skills to make an impact and last a long time (Michelle McCool in 2023 was a fun surprise). However when it is just a celebrity or out of shape old timer that is only there for a 2 minute or less cameo, I just groan. Hopefully those types of shockers (X-Pac) are kept to a minimum in 2024.
