Some lady won 1.4 million in the airport, forget the drinks lol
@seanb15885 жыл бұрын
1. The slots at the airport do have the worst pay outs, however, if a convention like say, a Rodeo is in town, they probably loaded those machines with losses. 2. Don't take a taxi in Vegas, take Uber or Lyft - set price. 3. Resort fees suck, but with Caesars Properties you can waive them (and the parking fee) with either a Diamond Players Card or their Visa Credit Card (get that before going) 4. For the drinks you can always ask for a double shot and a glass of coke (mix your own) - remember the cocktail servers are there for tips, they don't care about what the company does with the drinks 5. The Las Vegas Police Department is trying to scare people away from buying those bottles of water - trust me, almost all are authentic. They buy a case of 20 for like $4 at Costco and make a big profit on selling for a dollar each. The Casinos HATE that these guys are out there selling the water because that's money they could potentially get, so being that the casinos fund the police, it's all connected. 6. Spot on with the CD "artists" and fake Buddhist Monks. I greeted one of the monks with a traditional Buddhist greeting, she had no idea what I was saying. The lady just put the bracelet on, asked me to sign a book and then asked for a donation. I gave her a dollar and she said "no, $5" so I gave her the bracelet back. 7. Don't ever pay full price for show tickets - as a last resort at least ask the ticket counter if they have discounts available. 8. ATM fees on the Strip are up to $9.99 - fee at one of those Walgreens or CVS is like half that. 9. Great place to go for breakfast is just off the Strip - take Flamingo Rd EITHER East or West from the Strip for about a mile or two - there will be a place called "Blueberry Hill" - BEST coffee in Las Vegas and a good breakfast. ON the Strip for a quick bite - try "Block 16" in The Cosmopolitan, decent prices, great food.

Vegas used to have much better comps and food prices(even on the strip), now they nickel and dime you for everything. @colephelps62025 жыл бұрын
The definition of a scam includes but is not limited to, deceiving the customer into believing he will receive something for a specified price where he either does not receive the item at the same price as agreed, or at the proposed quality. Since there is not transparent pricing on Las Vegas hotels, resort fees are a scam. The "fees" do not pay for anything. If the pool is closed, the internet not working, and the gym equipment removed, you still pay the fee. It's a scam. Even calling it a resort fee is a scam. It's just part of the room price.
@waltblackadar46905 жыл бұрын
@David Roberts Resort fees are a scam and you're a shill. They're only disclosed in the very fine print and sometimes not at all on some booking sties. And they're insanely outrageous. I can stay tonight - 3/31/19 - at the MGM Grand for $65/night. Except the resort fee is $42/night. 40% is a scam.

The Elara hotel called my room after checking in, trying to talk me into buying Timeshares. One last thing not mentioned is the high number of panhandlers on the streets and even in some of the casinos, like Circus Circus. If you’re a guy it’s best to walk the strip with a female even if it’s just a friend or relative otherwise you will be hassled by people trying to sell you passes to strip clubs ect. Lots of good advice. My wife and I went to Vegas couple years ago and stayed at the MGM Grand. I'm the most cynical person on earth and it's tough to scam me. My feeling is that when dealing with crooks (that defines everyone who works in Vegas) all's fair in love and war. So when we checked in, we told them it was our 30th anniversary and we 'hoped' our room faced the strip as I slipped him a twenty. Not only did it face the strip but we got a bottle of Champagne and some very expensive chocolate covered strawberries. Way more than my twenty bucks worth. When checking out they hit us with the resort fee. 'No we didn't use your wifi or anything else and no I didn't agree to it. They got a manager to talk to us. I stood my ground. The manager got his manager, etc, etc. They removed the resort fee. Gotta fight for yourself.

I have lived here 57 years. Born to a professor dad (smart) and high school secretary mom (smart and sexy). Take good advice, such as from Here Be Barr, and enjoy the LV Strip. Bargains and quality are everywhere, but be smart. If it's too good to be ... that's right and if it's out of your price comfort zone, what, or whom, are you trying to impress. Quality costs more, but be smart about what you are paying for. Rooms are price sensitive, depending on location, time of year, time of week, how you booked it, and think about your purpose. The fun is everywhere, on and off the Strip, Red Rock, Lake Mead, Mountain Charleston at almost 12,000 feet high and seen west of the Strip, only 45-60 minutes away. Then the neighborhoods of old Vegas, Green Valley, Seven Hills, Anthem, Summerlin, Town square, some entertainment style churches, including Central and check out the amazing water parks. You might take the zip line above the reinventing downtown Las Vegas, or from the top of the 800 Stratosphere, and check out the best 5 mile commercial Strip in the world, on foot, Uber or limo. Even with entertainment everywhere these days, there is only one Hollywood and only one Las Vegas. Be smart, take advice, know your limits, take online classes on gambling, etiquette, having fun, knowing what incredible restaurant you want to enjoy, take a walk along the Strip or a park in the suburbs after a great night, maybe a local house rental for a change of pace, see the famous LV sign by one of the busiest airports in the nation, relax by the pool and remember to take lots of pictures. I love this town. Been to 37 states and each is cool, but I decided to live it up here for life. VIVA LAS VEGAS, Jon, retired NDOT Supervisor I

Casino employee here 👋🏼, read a lot of comments towards the resort fee saying it’s “nowhere to be stated/found” until the very end or until you get to the check in & are ‘forced’ to pay it. First off, nobody is forcing you to do anything, you could go stay off the strip & take your money elsewhere with the risk of a bum trying to steal your outdoor AC at a motel 6 & then you’re forced to pay for the damage 🤷🏻♀️ But, if you’re smart you can call any of the casinos reservations/contact center directly & specifically ask them about the resort fee, they’ll tell you. We’re not paid to hide information like that. If someone did fail to mention that, that’s their own problem, not yours. But yes, all strip properties have resort fees, some cheaper than others. Like he mentions in the video if you’re a rewards member, yes sometimes if your level of play is high enough, they give you rewards that can go towards “comped rooms” and “waived resort fees” but if you’re just trying to skimp out and you’re not a frequent player at the casino or not even a rewards card holder, don’t expect to get everything for nothing. It doesn’t work that way. Last couple of things, if you’re not really into making phone calls and speaking with a reservation agent of the casino, if you go directly to the website of the casino you’re looking to stay at, and go to the booking a hotel portion of the site, it also mentions the resort fees there. There should be a breakdown of, the room rate, the resort fee, and the tax which shows you at the bottom a “grand total”. I make reservations and can vouch because sometimes we have to price match other casinos. We don’t even hassle with 3rd parties such as Expedia or Booking . com, those rates aren’t the direct casino rates from the casino itself, that’s why they’re discounted. & about the 3rd parties, if they don’t mention the resort fee on their website, or it’s hidden somewhere in fine print, that’s not the casinos fault, we didn’t make the 3rd party websites. What information they decide to display is solely on them, and you shouldn’t be calling us to complain. You made the reservation through them (most likely through their website not on the phone with a reservation agent who could break it down for you), so therefore, they are the ones you need to call and yell at, not us. Btw, it always helps to read the fine print...just an FYI 😉
@derekschott52095 жыл бұрын
Your casino enters into an agreement with third party sites and they are required to submit the fee information up front to those sites, so yes, your resort is at fault here and should be called out on it. Second, people aren't too keen on paying 30-50% of the daily room rate just to get wifi and use the pool. I, alike thousands of others, have now quit going to Vegas due to this ridiculous cash grab. Having spent around 50 trips to vegas prior to this bullshit practice, I am more than glad to take my money elsewhere. And now we know why Vegas is dying a horrible death. Just an FYI...

I did that $20 trick in Honolulu Hilton Waikiki, and the employee got upset returned the $20 back to me and did not give any upgrade even though I had diamond status!

My husband and I got pulled in by one of those time share people. We went to see what it was about but my husband put on a real good act. When we went in to talk to a representative he faked a backache and got out of going through the rest of their schpeel. But we still managed to get the free vouchers they told us we would get which included 2 food vouchers, some slot machine gaming vouchers and 2 tickets to see Tournament of Kings at the Excaliber. We enjoyed every minute of it. Michelle Farrell

😂😂😂 The so-called “$20 trick” is bogus. If they don’t have any rooms to upgrade you to, you just lost $20. So, keep the $20 in your pocket, ask nicely if they have any free upgrades available, if they do and they make it for you, bring out the $20 as a thank you. They may even give you some di I g credits after that! Happened to me on my last Vegas trip. So, keep your $20 for gambling or a “thank you”. Otherwise it’s a bribe, not a tip. 👍🏻🎰

I never do that for a room, I sometimes get upgrades free BUT Not all of the time, I could care less because I am not in LV to sleep. I may be in the room for say 3-4 hours just to sleep and Im out! BUT I do "Grease someones palm with a $20" when going to lunch or dinner and NEVER stand in lines. But you are right about the checkin.

I live in Las Vegas, and I can tell everybody who might be interested, that there are nice hotels that are not on the Strip where even tourists can have a good experience. They include the South point, and any of the Station Casino properties. Along with live entertainment and all of the usual gaming, they have such things as multi-cinema movie theaters and bowling centers. The food in these places is also quite good.

I got $800 at the Southwest Terminal C before boarding a flight out with a $5 note.
