Oh, I hate those guys. LOL I hit a few practice balls and then play. The only practice swings I take on the course are if I have a real uneven lie and I'm trying to make sure where my club is coming down. Other than that, zero practice swings. As far as putting, I suck at it, so I'm a "that's good" guy, and keep moving.

A couple of weeks ago I was behind a foursome, all in separate carts (thank you Covid) who looked like they were playing bumper cars while they drove around in circles on the fairway, with music playing. And they all were playing more than one ball. And it was getting dark.

I'm the "overly supportive" guy, usually because it's the only healthy way to cope with the fact that I'm actually very upset with my game that day and I don't want to kill the vibe. I figure if I stay positive and keep practicing, eventually my friends will be the ones congratulating me and it's always better to keep things positive, it's still just a game after all.

My favorite would have to be the equipment snobs cousin. The “I have absolutely no business playing these clubs but since it’s what they use on tour they are right for me” guy. Who then goes out and shoots a legit 170 and backs up play so much that it leads to 6-7 hr rounds. For everyone behind him.

Ironbeard I could be on your team, I hope. Was asked to a company golf event knowing I never played before. First thing I should have questioned was they loaned me a set of right handed clubs. I’m left handed. Said it wouldn’t matter. Was a miserable day. To top it off, they presented me with the perpetual trophy of an old golf shoe nailed to a board.
