I don't know about Elvis but I have always tried to steer clear of divisive propaganda. There are a lot of wonderful people out there with varying points of view. I think for the most part that we all pretty much want the same things and something is keen on dividing us as a nation. I am from a small town in Maine and love all my fellow Americans.

I think Elvis would have fixed all of America if he sang that song!!!! I heard Elvis the first time I heard that song. We are at a place where each person is being faced with good or evil and being asked to choose what kind of world do they want to live in. Do you want kindness, honesty , faithfulness, prosperity, and happy memories ? Or do you want to just to be greedy and rob and have chaos which is going to cost you in the long run. I just hope people choose to be the best people they can be regardless of politics or anything else.

All I can say is for those people who feel offended by the Jason Aldean song, let me introduce you to a man name David Allen Coe and a song titled Simple Man. The uproar wasn’t about the song. The song has been out for months. It was about the video that was recently released that featured a courthouse of a famous lynching from the 40’s I believe. They have since taken that out of the video from my understanding. Showing the videos from the BLM protests and then showing that courthouse was no coincidence. I doubt the artist knew anything about it until it was brought up. Of course he cashed in, but it’s all about the money anyway.

I gotta say I dont understand what the hoopla is about with that song SMALL TOWN, I grew up in Alexandria VA (outside of DC) but was born in the 60s so when I grew up everyone knew everyone and you didnt mess with each other because if you did you were going to pay for it. I think it is perhaps a southern mentality because when I grew up VA was still the south. On the "SMALL TOWN " song, Not saying that I agree or disagree with you , but wanted to point out a couple of things as far as what I feel Elvis view would of been . #1 This song has totally went political with all the controversy around it , OK . I recall Elvis saying in an interview on video that " he was just an entertainer and prefered to keep his political views to him self " , So I think his answer would of been NO COMMENT when asked or at lease not shared his real feelings to the public . #2 Remember when Col. Parker had buttons made up that said " I LOVE ELVIS and also had buttons made that said " I HATE ELVIS " ? My point is that with todays world and the way people get offended over almost anything , they knew when this song was thought of what would happen if it was released. And by those that play into the whole mess give them exactly what they want and the end result is Aldean has a platinum record . I personally do not have a horse in this race because to me the last great country artist that ever sang in to a mic was ALAN JACKSON , and any thing after him I do not care for.
