I think mike chan's videos has a purpose, or a motive, which a lot of viewers will go in and check it out. Some of those are like restaurant reviews? I believe you would have more content focus in the future, but currently it's just random tours and subject it very misleading. Or subject was touched but just too much cover or understanding what you want from it.

I love Mike Chan’s videos too. It’s different from yours. His is different from yours. I love your videos too. Seeing you explore around our neighbourhood places that usually tourists will never go to. Anyway you can try this restaurant near Geylang Serai. It’s called Aroma Kampung. It’s all Malay food. It’s buffet style setting. You take what you want then they will count how much. The food there is nice too.

It's amazing. In the comments section, most of them are not Japanese. It's very interesting to watch a Japanese person who is fluent in English walking the local streets of Singapore. Singapore has the image of being a rich country like Dubai, but I felt that it also has a market with an Asian feel. I'm looking forward to more city walks in the future.

Hello and salam (peace) from a Malay-Muslim brother. Im a local in SG and nice to see you vlogging in places like Geylang Serai and other not so touristy areas. 😊 And i believe the stall where you bought the nasi padang (mixed rice and dishes) didnt put (or the uncle may have forgotten) to put your beef rendang. Slightly expensive.

Sinar Pagi is expensive and the queues are always long (on weekends you’d be waiting in line for 20 mins or less depending on the volume). Also if you’re eating nasi padang (any stall) at geylang serai, you’ll definitely pay more than $5. Tasty? That’s subjective, but I enjoy it once in awhile. Interesting and budget dish to try? Should try the $2 chicken rice stall and the $1 chicken porridge.

Totally agree with you on the prices. Unfortunately, this stall really serves good food, but, I have two favourite Malay stalls, one @ Ang Mo Kio & the other @ Hougang, to makan. The former has more than 30 years of experience while the latter is an Indonesian lady. Sedap!

Welcome to malay food... once you had it you will want to findout more😂 Close your eyes to the pricing because you just want to try out more dishes. Chicken thigh or drum stick will be more tender . Go eat a few more time nasi pandang and you get the drift of pricing so you can control what to order. because not every where have nasi padang You miss out a dessert , geylang serai cendol.. another must have when you are there and do try out biryani rice. Along the same stretch of food store

Wet markets can open as early as 4am, when I was a kid my mom used to bring us down at about 6am every Saturday morning to do grocery shopping for the week, and we would have breakfast after. Some stalls are only open for breakfast! 😄 If we went to the market at 11ish the best produce would be sold out already, such as the rarer/premium cuts of meat or special seasonal veggies. But I guess cuz this is a bigger market so there's higher footfall and the market is still busy even in the later part of the morning. If I'm not wrong the Geylang Serai market has the best beef and lamb in Singapore with the Tekka market at a close second. Thanks for the nostalgic video! ♥️
