Peter Hollens and Adam Chance were nominated for best country Acapella song last year for Country Roads. They lost to none other than Chris Rupp and Tim Foust for Long Black Train. CARA Contemporary Acapella Recording Artists. This year the Bass Gang have 3 nominations.

This is my favorite version of "Misty Mountains". The contrast in voices is beautiful. Peter in the higher tenor ranges & then paired with the true natural bass voice of Tim. And that last dragon's breath note is truly remarkable & how long he sustains it. Peter is a master at layering voices. Peter & Tim have collaborated on quite a few other songs & they are all beautiful. Please check out "Sound Of Silence", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Greensleeves", "Fire & Rain", "Teach Your Children", "Sunshine On My Shoulders", "You Can Close Your Eyes", "And So It Goes", "Blackbird", "You've Got A Friend". They recently released a duet album.

I have a bit of a story for you....When I was a young girl many many years ago, ( yes, I am that old) my Grandmother would use a term to describe certain people. The term she used was "pocket people". It wasn't until just before she passed that I finally understood that this was not derogatory or condescending. She simply meant that they were a person that made her so happy that she wanted to pick them up, put them in her pocket and take them everywhere with her to pull out whenever she needed to feel better. I have in her memory started using the same saying. Home Free (all of them but especially Austin and Rob), and Peter Hollens are a few of my pocket people. And it is absolutely official that you, sir, are my newest! Love your reactions. Please, please continue reacting to Home Free an when you have time throw in some Peter. They are amazing.

Peter Hollens(so talented) in collaboration with Tim Foust (or with Home Free) always works great. Because how beautiful does this sound? Both beautifully sung with voices that are very suitable for this song which you just pull into the story. Especially the bone-feeling bass. Suggestion: Peter Hollens with Home Free "Amazing Grace"

You have to try and remember, every voice you hear is produced by these TWO men. Peter Hollens is known for his multi-overlaying of harmonies with himself. The swelling backgrounds, ALL harmonies are by them.Check out Peter’s cover of “The Skyrim Theme, Full Dovahkiin “ version. He does 120 harmonies with himself. One of my favorites of his is “The Parting Glass”. An amazing video, and hart felt song.

His Skyrim theme with Lindsey Stirling is also really good, and the video is heaps of fun. I love his cover of Ed Sheeran's I See Fire, not only is it a great song, but it is also great at showing how he produces the sounds he does, and how they add up to what we hear.

The crazy high stuff was sung by Evelyn, Peter’s wife. The Hollins family have great voices, but my favorite singing family on the Internet are the Rupp siblings. Chris, Adam, and Tristan have the most stunning voices, and are so much fun!

Interesting facts about the filming for this video, Peter was filming in Oregon, with a company called fifgen (now defunct) started by a couple named McKenzie and Riley, who are a pair of musicians that have a group called The Hound and The Fox, meanwhile on the same day Tim was on Grand Cayman Island, in a place called Hell. On the subject of H+F, they've done a couple of songs with Chance, Wayfaring Stranger and Sound of Silence and a cover of We Three Kings with Tim as well as acting in the music video for Home Free's song mashup Thinking out loud/Let's get it on (Ed Sheeran/Marvin Gaye) and also in Grandma got run over by a reindeer. there you go, 5 songs to react to at some point. good luck.

Sorry but watching you react to Tim's bass always makes me think of that part in the Lion King when they hyenas are talking about how just saying Mufasa makes them shiver. And the one says it making the other shiver and say "ooo! Do it again!" Lol. Getting emotional with this version makes sense. It is an emotional song. The dwarves are mourning the loss of their home and are trying to prepare to fight to get it back. Peter and Tim did it beautifully, expressing the sadness and even fear with a strength beneath it. Probably why I like this version so much. Peter has done many other songs with Tim and with Home Free. You may like their version of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking For" the song is great but the video, while simple in appearance is amazing in how complex it truly had to have been to put together.

The acapella world is small. Tim.and Peter knew each other when they were briefly together in an acapella group. Peter had formed sn acapella group at the University of Washington before. The group competed the second season of The Sing-Off, an acapella competition show. Adam Chance was also competing on he second season of The Sing-Off with another entirely different group called Street Corner Symphony...Street Corner Symphony came up first runner up. Chance and Peter became friends during the competition Although the acapella groups compete against each other, they don't form personal rivalries. Rather they help each other. You might be interested in watching The Sing-Off. Peter Hollens, group and Chance's Street Corner Symphony wete on the second season. Pentatonix won the third season. Home Free and Voiceplay competed the fourth season. Home Free won the fourth season and became friends with all the different groups Home Free did pretty good for a group of guys who never thought that they would win

Much like Voiceplay's "The Dragonborn Comes" makes you feel like you're in the game and ready to go fighting things. Both are epic and awaken the adventurous spirit in people. But it also gives you even more appreciation of what Tim adds to the song. Also another great collab with Peter is "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". I would LOVE to see a cover of this by Tim, Geoff, and The Bass Gang.

You NEED to react to Peter Hollens + Avi Kaplan doing "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair," Peter's "Gollum's Song," and...well, basically everyone Peter does. He's just....talented on a level that's nearly physically painful. :)

The amazing part of this song is that they were not in the same country if I’m correct Peter was in Europe and Tim was in Oregon . I’m not 100% sure but they were in different countries

One of my favorites, glad you enjoyed it! Love Tim, and love Peter too. Peter's songs are actually what got me into a cappella music in the first place, so it's great to see you discovering him!

I can tell you were not really prepared for this one. The look on your face was priceless. I loved Tim's long hair. Too bad he cut it off. The videography on this is just .. EPIC ! So well fitted to this song and really evokes the mood and emotions of the lyrics. Peter's higher notes are other worldly. And when Tim comes back in you get a sense that a Dragon has just stepped in the room, but WAIT.... wait until you hear Tim's last note of the song, AND keep your eyes glued to the screen... it's MAGICAL what happens! ...... Did you notice the screen shaking??

Peter doesn't really have any bad videos, but I highly recommend "I See Fire", "Disney Villains Medley", "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair", and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".

This was the reaction I was waiting for. Something about this arrangement keeps making my legs spread and that last note popped my ovaries.

I think that there are something like 120 tracks put together for this video. Peter is a master at layering of sound tracks.

I don't remember if you've already reacted to it, but the low bass singer collaboration with Bobby Bass is probably my favorite cover of this. So much power.

This is the best version of this song from the Hobbitt poem by J.R.R. Tolkien. This is incredible!

What I like about you is that you reacted just the same I did when I first heard that song. I was wondering if it was just me or if someone else even felt the same as me hearing it. I'm glad someone responded the same way I did. Shivering at the same moments than you ... Peter Hollens and Tim Foust are just genius. Thank you for confirming my feelings here ...

Mop & Bucket Aisle 410! thank you for another great reaction, Peter & Tim’s voices compliment each other so well. Good to see you melting over the richness and depth of the sound. It's always great to see someone truly connect with music like that, and your reaction as always was truly a joy to watch.
