You need to totally watch Peter and Tim do "Bridge over troubled water" and "Greensleeves" You should also check out Peters wife Evynne Hollens and their oldest son doing the song "A Million Dreams". Their oldest son was only 4 when they filmed it. If you really want a heart warming video then watch Peter Hollens song called "Ashland's Song" he wrote it for the night his first son was born. It is AMAZING!!!

I'm 8 months late but I can't see someone recommend Peter & his wife and not mention "For the Dancing and Dreaming". HTTYD 1 & 2 are amazing enough even if you ignore the soundtracks, but...that track from HTTYD 2 is absolutely amazing and Peter & Evynne absolutely *crushed* it!

This is my favorite version of this song. The contrast in voices is beautiful. Peter in the higher tenor ranges & then paired with the true natural bass voice of Tim. And that last dragon's breath note is truly remarkable & how long he sustains it. Peter & Tim have collaborated on quite a few other songs & they are all beautiful. Peter is a master at layering voices.

Peter Hollens did 128 tracks of 64 tracks each for Tim and him self. Then blended them together. Peter was in CA. and Tim was in the US Virgen Islands (I believe) filming a Vid. At the LAST 20 seconds of the vid IF you watch Tim's Clothes you WILL SEE the Camera vibrating from the POWER of His Death Star Voice !

Peter and Tim used to be in a group together and have remained friends ever since. These 2 were meant to sing together. They have done several other collaborations. Sounds of Silence, Bridge of Troubled Water and Greensleeves. If you are a gamer, Peter does an amazing cover of the Skyrim theme with violinist Lindsey Sterling as well as cover of some of the Civilization games + others.

I discovered Peter via his collab with Avi (PTX) called Black is the Color of my True Love’s Hair, which is gorgeous btw. I read this one is 120+ tracks of (Peter’s) layered vocals. Then remixed with Tim’s track. It’s epic. Their cover of Greensleeves is just beautiful.

This is beautiful harmony! That last note though!! Omgoodness! You may want to check out Peter Hollens Disney medley, I See Fire where he sings every part and layers each part together for the finished product. He is a master at layering himself singing. It's like watching and listening to a group but, it's just him. Great reaction as always AB!! ❤👏👏👏👏👏👏❤

I See Fire is fabulous! It's sung over the end credits of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I think THIS song is from the next Hobbit movie Battle of the Five Armies. Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay does a version of this song that is equally as breath taking. He just expands the title to Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold. Totally worth checking out.

I 100% agree with this recommendation!!! Would have made the suggestion myself but you did!! Also, I’ve picked out my first funeral song…whenever my expiration date happens…and it is “Into The West” by Peter Hollens! He has 2 versions on KZfaq, and mine is without any musical accompaniment.

So glad you watched this one. It’s one of my favorites. Peter is a master of layering voices. It’s just Peter and Tim in this…like 120 times. Peter has some incredible duets & collabs with others Personally, I'd recommend "I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For" (U2 Cover) Peter Hollens feat. Home Free kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gpxzeJh6sr7DZ4E.html It's just Peter, Home Free... and a background choir composed of over 300 of their Patreon supporters. It's not just awesome for the vocal qualities, but it's a masterpiece of sound engineering for balancing & equalizing 300 individual video submissions with different mics & room acoustics so it sounded like they were all on the same equipment in the same studio.

If Tim shook you with that note you need delve further into Avi Kaplan. Not only can Avi hit a (slightly) deeper bass note than Tim (I love Tim and think he’s AMAZING!) he also has the ability to sing two chords at one time. There’s a video out there of him doing it live. Check it out! I’m a Home Fry AND a Pentatonix fan (I’ve been Mitch slapped many times!); but a little disappointed that Pentatonix has introduced string instruments into their “acapella” music. Home Free remains true to the art. You might want to check out Voiceplay too. They seem to be making a name for themselves in the acapella scene.

This is from Peter's crowdfunded Middle Earth album of songs from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. There's some other really great tracks on this, including his cover of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire," which I actually prefer over Ed's. Peter Hollens is a master of layering. I remember the one collab with Lindsey Stirling was something like 96 tracks of Peter's voice and over 100 of Lindsey's violin. (I might be off a bit, but it was a ton from both of them.) Peter's voice is good on it's own (especially with all the layers so it has a nice full sound) but he does some really great collabs as well with a ton of people. I saw the Avi collab "Black Is the Color of My True Love's Hair" recommended earlier and it's one of my favorites. Avi's buttery smooth bass with Tim's sweet tenor brings tears almost every time. He's also got some great Christmas songs, including some featuring his wife singing. The one video is really cute, filmed when their son was probably around 2 or so and is just really wholesome.
