The $265,000 Clutch Chess International is an 8-player knockout taking place from 6-14 June, 2020, with World Champion Magnus Carlsen the top seed. Each match consists of 12 games, but with the twist that games 5-6 are worth double the points and games 11-12 triple. The "clutch" games have an extra $10,000 at stake in each match, with prizes rolled over if the games end in draws.
The time control is 10 minutes per player for all moves, with a 5 second per move increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 60. The event is organised by the Saint Louis Chess Club with the games played on lichess. Official website: uschesschamps.com

LOL dude, seems like you'll need to find a new hobby soon. Compared to earlier videos the number of likes and replies is diminishing and i'm guessing so is the novelty. My mate and I have a $100 bet on the month when you first miss posting your "table of contents" by 24 hours. He won the first $50 so he is now on double or nothing. It's quiet entertaining actually.

9:34 at that position Qb8 would be cool actually, if pawn takes queen just rook takes a1 and check mate...

To think I saw this live. This was an insane first game for a "Clutch" Chess tournament. Tbh a lot of the games were pretty clutch.

*rook to g7 was the best move* 13:47 .as if black does knight captures rook , pawn would capture, and it leads to queen, even if black captures the knight on f5, magnus would still be winning, if black captures the knight from the beginning then rook to g8 for check, and if knight blocks the attack, the knight will be pinned so it doesn't stop the pawn, the only way to stop the pawn from becoming a queen is to sacrifice the rook, but then it is rook vs knight, so you are still winning, any other moves would just delay the pawn from becoming a queen, so whatever you do, white will have better material, so completely winning for white Overall, the worst case scenario is white having a rook compared to blacks knight, and magnus did better than that in the end, so good for him, but I believe that rook to g7 left black with no move to beat white

in that first puzzle im pretty sure theres three things you can do as white, pretty sure you could check with the knight and get a bishop or a knight after the queen moves or just move it to the one safe square and offer an exchange on the next move
