Actually, wouldn't certain segments be easier with the bottom fret buttons. It's less distance for your strum arm to travel

Twisted Hero the thing is, when you're SO used to the size and the distance of the higher frets, it's very difficult to accommodate your fingers to be more close together. It's related to muscle memory. Same thing with the strumming hand, he needs to know exactly where the buttons are

Not to mention that when a fret is held down on the far end, pressing it on the closer frets doesn't do anything. So you could accidentally tap too quick, and mess up some hopos.

Can confirm, it is hard to get used to at first but it's really good in tight segments. I love the guitar btw, if you don't have a guitar i have 4 and i love this on above all else. It's a Rock Band 3 guitar for anyone who is wondering.

Well it's no good for the goofy bleep bloops of CH. But in RB it works nicely for the songs where it's mostly strumming patterns and not just a bunch of one-offs

I personally like the strum bar even though you can’t alternate or rake. If i was able to change the frets to a gh3 les paul, and keep the strum bar just to play non-raking songs then that’ll be a great quiet ass guitar!!

I used an RB1 strat for my entire guitar game career. It wasn't optimal, but you would get used to the weirdness if it was the best controller you had access to (i.e. your other option was an xplorer, which had a stupidly high failure rate in my experience).

Both my Xplorers still work but I had to resolder the usb wire and I had to mechanical fret mod one because the rubber silicon pad on mine failed and both guitars need a replacement whammy mechamism because the OG mechanism uses brittle plastic that snaps too easily. There's new 3d print ones that usea better material that seems more durable / long lasting thankfully.

That’s the exact guitar controller that I started playing Clone Hero on. I switched to an Xplorer we had on a whim and it was insane how much more comfortable it was to play. While I didn’t hate the Stratocaster, the frets are kinda crunchy and not the most friendly things for developing muscle memory.

I much prefer the frets on a rockband guitar to the ones on the GH guitars, but you cant beat the strum bars on the GH ones, especially the Xplorer. I like the Xplorer for songs with a lot of strumming, but the RB guitar for songs with a lot of tapping. Just feels better in my hands idk

Thankfully if you prefer the RB fret-buttons, there exists a modkit you can buy (even today) that swaps out the stupid sensor strum bar in the RB guitar to a clicky one not unlike the ones that guitar hero uses.

I tried both, and I say GH guitar strum are much louder than RB guitar frets, and RB guitar has no strum sound (it is totally soft). So, you are wrong, the only real thing is that RB guitar frets are louder than GH guitar frets.

I dunno about the performance but it sounds like it's gonna explode whenever you aggressive tap.
