This is another fabulous group from the 50's-60's. This was the time of classy romantic heartfelt songs. Sadly they don't make music like this anymore. They had so many great hits such as "Only You", "Enchanted", "(You've Got) The Magic Touch", "My Prayer", "Twilight Time", "Harbor Lights", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "The Great Pretender" etc.

They were such a class act not to mention their beautiful voices & songs. My parents, as was in their job descriptions, did not much care for rock and roll, but they loved the Platters who sang all the songs of their favorite group, The Ink Spots. Check them out!

Hi Mel and Shawn. The Platters Lead singer's name was Tony Williams. I really enjoy the music is that you play, and The Platters are Par Excellent! My Favorite Song by the Platters was from 1956, and titled, My Prayer. I would love to see and hear your reactions on this recording? I guarantee, You both won't regret it is GOD BLESS...

Tony Williams (1928-1992)b was the lead singer. You should listen to some of Zola Taylor's songs privately if not featuring some of her singing. Some of her stuff follows : He's Mine Roll With Me Henry Until The Real Thing Comes Along My heart Belongs To Daddy My Old Flame By The River Sainte Marie Summertime Make Love To Me As Time Goes By So she covered a lot of classics. The quality of her voice is so pretty. And she had such a charming smile.

Hi Shawn and Mel, that was so soothing and beautiful! I love the Platters. I agree with Shawn they were perfection. Someday I would enjoy hearing "Only You", or "Twilight Time". Those are two of my favorites. I love that you two go down the rabbit hole when you find something you like and go exploring! That's just what I like to do too. Once I find someone or a group that I like, I want to learn and see everything about them. Have a nice evening ahead :)
