@@deathfromabove432 That's fair! But it's about 3 times the damage compared to an overpen, and can make the difference between sinking the dd or getting sunk in a tight spot.

I love the german line, alot of people say it's a line to ignore due to the power creep but to me it's just a challenge I have to overcome. But boooi... CV's sniping me are another thing lol

Those stat charts are great for comparison. Where does one go to get charts like that? Really appreciate all the time you spend making these videos, they're are very helpful and informative. Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much! my real life job involves a lot of data analysis and making complicated things look simple; I'm simply using the same tools here, like a heat map to highlight trends in a sea of numbers ;) But it does take a lot of time, so the positive feedback is highly appreciated.

7km is the sweet spot, I’ve found when fighting destroyers . Anything closer, you get overpens. Anything further, its too hard to hit him. The destroyer you were fighting was trying to close the distance to keep you over penning, but he forgot about your torps. Its weird though. I’ve always gotten rather good results from the Eugen after adjusting my aim to a battleship bow or stern and it VAPORIZES destroyers. Its tool kit is also really good at avoiding the dangers associated with destroyer hunting.

Good points! I'll try it. But frankly I feel much more confident taking on DDs in 150mm ships... or with Italien SAP shells. I believe the Eugen is in a hard place in this meta, simply not enough cruisers to hunt with AP.

🙂 Love wichita and mainz when it comes to AP cruiser in t8 but charles or hipper.. maya is bad too tbh, cleve better at aa, he-spam and team support, chappy best he spam Rip hipper 🙁 Do a challenge no commander no modules nothing naked ship 😂 Or dd only go backwards? 😇

Yes, I didnt like Maya either (rented it during an event), it's the lack of DPM that did it for me. Charles doesn't look to good either on paper, but I'm still at T6 so I have some time :) I find Mainz to be really amazing, too bad we don't have enough of these at higher tiers to handle shimas...

@@deathfromabove432 sold charles really quickly.. only t6 in this line is good if one doesnt have degrass. Maya is a worse takao and takao was only fun when bb‘s only went in a straight line with tunnel vision so even cruiser can unload full torpsalvos.. not anymore and the line didnt get much love since then

@@dudditz Yes, I'm not a fan of IJN cruisers so far... I guess I'll stick with the Russians and the Italians. I'll give the French a try but on paper they're indeed not looking that great.

So these 2 are STILL not very good, even after being buffed... I just returned to the game after an 8-9 month hiatus. But even before I left, I'd already had the Hipper sitting around in my port, rarely used, for about a year. I played more AI games with it than real games, because I'd always have to try it out in AI mode first, in order to determine if it was worth taking it out in real battles(because of it's questionable stats). I just find it hard to tolerate it's lousy HE and it's poor AP performance against destroyers, which SHOULD be my primary target in a cruiser! So after watching ^this, I've finally decided to stop dicking around, and just sell the darn thing! Besides, I just bought a Charles Martel, and it's gotta be better than the Hipper.
