Dedicated scientists, land restorationists, and volunteers are drawing upon the ancient wisdom of the Hawaiian people to revive Maui’s cherished ecosystems. Even amidst profound loss in the wake of recent wildfires, these resilient islanders are committed to reconnecting waterways from mauka to makai-from the mountains to the ocean-to heal their island home.

Science of building "dry dams" is strong. Reforestation and building dry dams on ravines and gulches is necessary to save reefs and fish populations. Yet whenever there is a heavy rain event, mud flows come down the mountains, on all islands.

Craig Sechlor, you did a terrific job here on this. I do notice an amazing similarity to David Suzuki. His "The Nature Of Things" is Canada's longest running series at 49 years. The team here did a FAB job capturing the Islanders spirit and determination. Their belief system being so much in the forefront of this Documentary is a great part of this.
