THANK YOU Governor DeSantis. These opportunities for children for sports is so great. So good for kids. Yes, like when we grew up! Also bringing in experienced people to introduce job opportunities is so needed. I think that if a child is given the information about different types of work or jobs, it gives them a goal, an early start to figure out what they want to do. Excellent things included in these bills. Chaplains, how wonderful! Many children need support in their lives, which includes God, who is in many children’s lives. I am so happy to hear about this. Common sense laws! Absolutely! Governor DeSantis is doing all the right things, things that have been so needed to be brought forward for our children and families. So glad to have him as our governor and to be an example for other states. Everybody is moving here, more than 1000 people a DAY! There is a reason, and this is one of them!

My counselor never talks about any god or religion because it isn't pertinent to the issue. Not sure how talking about a god helps a person with depression or anxiety disorders.

This does not fix the problems in Floridas education system at all. I am in favor of opening as many avenues as possible for student support and community relations. I’m concerned this however, 1. Will not keep the school environment a neutral place; 2. May implicate political and religious influence for students; 3. Does not address more pressing issues in the state’s education system. I’d like to see DeSantis free up funds to give teachers a livable wage so that there is healthy competition for teaching positions to attract, recruit and retain QUALITY teachers. Create a salary schedule based on Years of experience and education/clock hours do that teachers are motivated to stay and seek continuing education. Moreover, we need to allocate funds under general education so that schools are funding curriculum materials as opposed to having teachers 1. Dig into their unlivable wages to buy learning materials. I could go on. But I need to sleep,

The school system functions better with DeSantis as Gov. than it ever did before. He is righting the ship back towards the pro-student pro-parent direction. Are things perfect? No! But I can plainly see that teacher pay, which is sky-high in my grandchildren's Marxist-ruled teachers union state, is not the whole answer.

Ok question: how does this benefit the average Floridian? And also, doesn’t this violate the -1st- 14th amendment? Because if Satanism is a religion (and in some cases it isn’t and is more of a secular club) then making laws against it at the state level should violate that amendment.

@@harrmick6218well said brother. I was a massive atheist, but while I was in the VA recovering from a surgery, the only person who ever visited me was a chaplain. Even though I was an atheist at the time, it felt comforting to have someone pray for me and care. I even told him that I wasn't a believer and he asked if it would ok to say a quick prayer for me. I've been militant my whole life about religion, but this genuinely touched me for some reason, and it was great to have someone to talk to. Maybe it's because I'm getting older.

But since we are a Christian Nation there will be a lot of Christian chaplains that can talk to kids about their faith or any other struggles they may be having.

A child should be free of any religion in school. Religion is a private matter that has no place in a school district. By forcing christian counseling on kids of other faiths just because a community is heavily christian is the definition of intolerance. We have a guy to claims to love the fetus (just for votes) over the lives of transgender children who may commit suicide because of his ridiculous thirst for power from racist and bigoted voters. I worked with transgender people in a factory, and they are the best people in the world who have suffered hate and tyranny just because they are different. Some were real experts in their field and high quality workers. It was in the defense industry, the industry our soldiers rely on. DeSantis is a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Governor Desantass, as a Jewish person, and if I had children, they would be home schooled. Separation of church and state. I never did recite the Lord's Prayer when I was in elementary school, just the Pledge of Allegiance. You need an education again on separation of church and state.
