If you think that's weird, I have a friend that's 12 years older than me and he looks at me almost as a father figure. 🤔 His dad died when he was 10 and I've got a stoic, masculine personality, and good judgment - so I'm not a bad father figure I guess. 🤣

You shouldn't use the Safariland UBL with belts that are less than 2-2.25". Safariland states this themselves. You can have problems drawing as the holster will move. They make other belt attachments that will bolt right on that are built specifically for narrower belts.

I remember seeing one of those safariland holsters (slightly different in “airsoft” model and didn’t have the nice multicam cover) come free of a team leader in Iraq during (thankfully) a training op. Imagine a guy running through a field back towards a chopper when suddenly he realizes his pistol is tumbling across the ground behind him. Props on him for realizing it by the time I and others called out to him because boy would that have been a headache if he made it on the chopper back to base before he realized he no longer had it.

One of the biggest tips in EDCing is the ability to use and manage it no matter the amount of “layers.” I’ve found that using appendix or high OWB like this is key for discreetness. Because, well, brandishing and getting in trouble is a possibility.

Very very true! Any time I see anyone open carrying, "and I see ALOT of this" I always think to myself, "You have absolutely no clue how to even use that thing do you?". I also jump to assumptions alot of times when seeing this too thinking they dont have the knowledge of how damn important concealment really is...

@@TerminalM193 the amount of “tools” I sell at the shop and people come in and say, “I wanna buy a sub compact for ccw.” And I tell them why. I question it all, to risk a very minimal grip purchase for the sake of comfort and “small” is the most common reason. But when they see me. A man wearing XXL and carrying full size they are in awe. A good holster, a good belt, and a great set of pants can go along way. Again, discreetness is a huge thing people don’t realize

The leg straps work very well to keep the holster in place during your draw specifically. But they need to be tensioned and not loose around your leg like the video shows. If you fudge your draw you can sometimes lift the bottom of the holster from your leg and pin the gun towards your body where it wont come out. The leg strap gives you more room for error basically.

Qls is the way to go. it's worth buying with you SL, THE FIRST TIME. I set up my holster with the single band leg panel that typically comes with their taser set (it rides much higher than the advertised drop padal) even with a stiff belt the standard padal cody talks about tends to tilt towards my body on draw and I ended up approaching an individual who used that set up for work and he said it took a while for him to train out of that natural habit. Different strokes for different folks but if you want a high drop leg it's the way to go easy on and off great for duty and rural use. Plus the grip is right below the belt line so your hand naturally finds it on draw.

A good retention holster is so, so important. After all, you wouldn't want to lose your airsoft, especially if it's one of those nice gas blowbacks, they're quite expensive. It can be pretty dangerous to not have a good holster- one guy sat down at a furniture store and his airsoft fell out, and lodged itself between the cushions without him noticing. Shortly after, a little boy found it and scared the hell out of everyone. Fortunately, nobody got hurt- a BB at a decent velocity is going to chip teeth or damage your eye- but it illustrates the importance of always knowing where your airsoft is, which is much easier with a good retention holster.
