Yes, I had the same problem with dust coming in from the back. I solved it by making a simple canvas curtain that goes across behind me on the uprights, just below eye level. Acrylic windshields always seem to get cloudy and craze eventually and attract dust like a magnet.

Cody, the easiest way we eliminated cattails around our pond was with a saw blade retrofit attachment on our Echo weedeater. Been through clippers, battery powered recip saws etc. Tried everything. Saw blade on weedeater is the only answer to get it done quick and easy. Pond was down before spring refilling. Pulled out what we could and burnt the rest. So far, so good! I've also had similar ideas about your hat patches. I am an Eagle Boy Scout. We used to sew and wear our accomplishment badges on a sash. If you could formulate some sort of "Life Scout" badges for your hats, that would be awesome!

When I was 11 my dad got me a TTR-125 before going to do contractor work in Afghanistan in late 2010. Some of his new friends ( as he had moved to Tennessee a few months before my sister, mom, and I) helped me to get it running. When we went to start it the first time we forgot to put the clutch cover back on. Engine oil went everywhere! I remember clear as day his friend Jon handing me a fistful of shop towels and saying " When it's your bike that pisses everywhere, you get to clean it up". Ha! I'll take oil any day over gasoline.

I was sponsored by Geissele (I've used their triggers in my match rifles for about a decade) a few years ago, flew their "flag" at the national matches(Camp Perry) and they're a great company. No surprise at all they designed a shooting hat for people who actually shoot. The anti reflective underside is especially nice on a bright day when you want to simply "black out" everything but your sight picture. I actually carry simple, cheap and disposable(and bio degradable) index cards and a couple of large paper clips to fashion a quick side shade as well if it's getting late and the sun is low on the horizon or there's just a lot of movement in my periphery as well.

I would like to add my two cents to the hat comments: Bunker Branding hats are great and they do a very great job there, but I think everyone's missing the bigger point Cody is making that he wants some specific features similar to the hat he's talking about. Bunker doesn't have those so either they'd have to source a new one just for Wrangler merch, or it probably won't be the type of hat Cody wants to offer.

You're a good fellow, and refering to what my father taught me video, he and I worked together on farm, and equipment to help run it. Definitely was taught that one must look after what we have, not to worry about what we might like. Welding, engineering, plant maintenance, particularly lubrication, and safety. We always made sure that there was sufficient shedding for any equipment purchased. I cringe, these days when I see valuable equipment left in rain, hottest sun to ruin it. As you know, nothing will last long if not looked after. More money than sense. Farmers, in general, are well rounded in their abilities to repair and attempt all chores. Keep up the good work. Great idea on the hat/patch combo. I like the honesty because thats basically the kind of thing I would probably say too. I’d buy one to support the channel..and I’m in Australia. Keep up the videos!

You could make a set of patterns, and set up Mrs.W with a sewing machine, to make the caps, and an embroidery machine as well, this way everything is done in house! You sent shivers up my spine Cody, never use saw dust to clean up oil or fuel spills, use kitty litter or sand! You are creating a fire hazard with sawdust!

Missed your request for input on Cattails....I live in Florida where they need constant attention. We have a 1/2 acre pond. Wade in and pull them out....is best. The reason is to eliminate the build up of dead organic debris and maintain the depth instead of the buildup. Dead Cattails are easy to pull. We cull to cut down on dense growth after the original removal. Enjoy your channel... you folks are solid and you seem to be a good leader/husband/father/neighbor/brother/citizen. Thanks for propping up the g0ood side of our lives.

I always light the tire plugs on fire once I get them in. Seems to help bond the rubber and mold the excess in the tread.

Both leaks found quickly and hot beverages delivered. Living the life Cody. Fixing a tubeless tyre I was always thought to give the tool a full turn maybe 2 before pulling it out, helps form a knot on the inside of the tyre. Depends of course on the thickness of the cord your using and if your tool is the type that cuts the cord when you pull out. Tractor should have a dipstick for checking hydraulic fluid surely?

Try the Richardson trucker 112 hat. They are fantastic hats that allow your head to breathe in the hot sun. I’ve never had one rip on me even after my blue heeled chewed on it. They are a stiffer hat that doesn’t flop around. they are very customizable hats that look great and are very comfortable! It’s just a personal opinion but I 10/10 recommend

Cody, I’m Jim and live in Salina, Ks. Wanted to comment on your side by side dust issue. I own a Bobcat 3400. I also have a windshield. You are correct. They are for cold or cool weather only. Without a back window it will suck all the dirt from behind the machine into the cab. Either get a back window or use it only in fall/winter. Good luck. Jim.

Richardson is a popular hat brand for embroidery. Headquarters are in Oregon and I believe they are all American made hats. The “Astoria” kind of fits the style but are on the higher end, according to the msrp on their website. The Pct looks like it might work, $12.50 for blanks

I'm a diesel mechanic, this is just something you gotta deal with. If you have a hard time reaching both sides of the hose have them put a break into the middle, makes it easier to install.

For the rain, Try rigging a piece of Lexan, from the roof, angled down to just below your eye level. This will route the water, out over the hood. Also rig another piece, just above the dash, angled down and out over the hood. Between the 2.........it may keep your feet dry.

When I was deployed all my buddies and I wore ball caps similar to that and we called them "morale hats". It was great fun to see who had the funniest patch Velcroed to there hat. I personally had the Oregon State flag on mine.
