*The actor who plays Daemon, he's got these subtle mannerisms that he does, which are amazing. The only other actor I can think of who could maybe equal him is the actor who plays Homelander in The Boys. And both of these tv shows are so damn good in my opinion.*

Love when Vaemond’s entire arguement descended into hypocrisy. He said it wasn’t ambition, it was blood. The Strong boys aren’t Velaryon’s, so fair enough. But Baela and Rhaena are true born, the blood of his house. As one of them will be the Lady Velaryon, Vaemond’s blood remains the Lord of drifymark. So his outburst calling them Bastards proves it was never about blood.

@@snatchadams69no it doesn't. Remember season 2 of got when Tyrion got married to Sansa, Tyrions kids would've been the Lord/lady of Winterfell because of Sansa. Rhae Royce, Jeyne Arryn, Alys Karstark, and many others have done the same. Even if the Velaryon boys were called illegitimate then Baela would be the heir not Vaemond

The inheritance was going to corlis's oldest son and then to his oldest son... since jacerys wasnt his legitimate son jacerys doesn't have ANY right to ANYTHING that the valeryons held. Since jacerys wasnt legitimate the claim goes to corlis's brother plain and simple. Thats how feudal inheritance works. Also, if tyrion had children with sansa they definitely wouldnt be lords of winterfell. How the hell are you THIS condescending?...

well, we don't know for sure. since it's written like a history book it just records the history as he was found all burned up. it's actually possible that he lived and it just wasn't recorded in the history books because he successfully did it in secret

Viserys: I love you all dearly!! Also Viserys: My Only child!! He kept saying let’s get along & proceeded to keep doing everything to make sure that’s impossible. Viserys is the real villain of this show. Viserys knew what Jaehaerys' council would've wanted him to do. He knew having a male son after stubbornly naming his daughter heir would create an impossible situation. He knew his favoritism towards his daughter would naturally fester resentment on the other side of his family. Viserys knew what was gonna happen and kept doing it. He won his own crown that way. People forget he a& Daemon were preparing for a civil war because the other claimant Rhaenys was a female. Viserys himself was "elected" king over a female, how hypocritical it's for him to trample on that legacy? Seems like the viewership can't compartmentalize between "loving father" (to one child) from "absolutely terrible king who made one bad decision after another". Viserys was the definition of Nero playing with his Lego set while Rome was burning from the fire he started. Meanwhile, sweet tongue Rhae Rhae practically dragged a lepered corpse out just to have the rightful heir to Driftmark executed. *Big "Dad. Listen to me. You NEED to sign off these documents in my name RIGHT NOW" hospice bedside energy smh*

I think this can be explained by the fact that his first true love was Aemma and he married her out of love where as he married and had kids with Alicent to get his council off his back, He favored Rhaenyra because he truly did want her and wasn’t forced to have another family unlike his other children, I could be wrong tho that’s just my thought

@@Bustanut0569 That's a fair interpretation from Viserys' perspective. But it also shows him as a very selfish and cold hearted man. Because at the end of the day, he was the king. Nobody can force the king to marry. No amount of political trickery can be an excuse for lack of common sense & weak resolve. Viserys held all the power in his dynamic with Alicent. He chose instant gratitication out of his lonliness & later realized he had made a mistake. But by that time he had messed up the lives of the innocent children who did not ask to be born.

So what's the logical purpose of poisoning Viserys slowly since he lived for 20 years after his marriage and damn near outlived his own kids? He was only incapacitated for about the last couple years of his life, so it's not like the hightowers ruled by proxy by keeping him drugged up. Viserys himself ruled for most of those 20 years. Would be kinda counterproductive to poison someone for 20 years just so you can rule in his name for the last 2 years. Much easier to just you know, kill him. So the Viserys Maester conspiracy is just that, illogical mushroom nonsense. So ofc the average audience will be drawn to it. Just like they immediately assume the servant is going to be put to death because everything has to be a malficent disney villain caricature. Blackcels have convinced themselves that nobody not named Targaryen is allowed to have nuances and layers.

Except it makes sense with regards to the age. They needed the green children to be of fighting age so they couldn't kill him then. Notice how all of the green kids were of the age that would've helped them fight, Tessarian can be used as an example who was barely of fighting age.

But honestly you can also argue maybe poisoning Rhaenyra while she was still young and while Daemon was self-exiled in Pentos not caring about the throne, would've given you a better chance to prevent civil war. The idea that you're not carrying out the coup only because you want to prepare your kids to fight a civil war feels way too convoluted. Usually you're carrying out the coup because you're thinking it's the only way to AVOID civil war.

Siring illegitimate kids in a hereditary system is always asking for trouble. Especially if you're taking a man that looks nothing like your husband and even medieval people can tell just by looking at the kids. Didn't need CSI Westeros to figure out that those three kids are most certainly not from Laenor.
