Then James turned around and said to his driver and fireman, "Just give me a little more coal, and when we cross that great mighty viaduct, watch my big drivers roll" It's a mighty rough track between Wellsworth and Maron and on the line there is a 5-mile grade. It was on that grade that James lost his air brakes, and you could see what a crash he made. He was coming down Gordon's Hill making 80 miles per hour, when he let out a loud girlish scream. He was found in the wreck with tar on his boiler and the tar wagons were busted at the seams. And then a telegram came to Tidmouth shed and this is what it said. It said. "Oh, that brave red engine, who pulled the Fast Mainland Freight, he's laid up for repairs at Croven's Gate" Now come all controllers from me take warning from this time on and learn, never speak harsh words to your hard-working engines, they may leave you and never return.

'Cause it's a mighty rough road from Wellsworth to Maron, there's a curve on a three mile grade. It was on that grade where his brake blocks caught fire, you can see what a jump he made. Well now all you engines, you'd better take a warning from this time on and learn. Never speak harsh words to your true-guiding driver, he may leave you and never return!

I think I just found the artists behind this version; Merrill Jay Singers (type in "songs of the railroad ol 97 and it should come up- the thumbnail it shows is a vintage style woman dressed like a pioneer or something.
