Күн бұрынI started to inspect the new ZX14 twin project I got. the bike is actually a Concours 1400, very similar to ZX14 motor with a few exceptions. I bought this project bike for $500 thinking it was a steal, come to find out there was a major issue that I completely overlooked when purchasing. The bike actually had a damaged engine casing from the impact during the wreck. Y’all stay tuned into this wrecked bike rebuild where I repair the damaged on the cases caused from the wreck!

Exact same damage I’m dealing with on my speed triple rs but I’m taking the engine apart and trying to find a welding now that can do it.

I looked on eBay and if you’re tearing down the motor already, you can buy a set of cases for a couple hundred bucks. Welder is going to charge you a decent amount to be able to weld drill and re-tap those holes. Plus it’s never like factory again. So I’d just swap it tbh.

sweet vid as always man, really enjoy seeing you get your weld on and the thread repair. one thing I never saw but would recommend if you aint doing it; keep your drill bits oiled when using them, it stops them going dull.

Thanks! Yeah I normally do but aluminum is so soft and it wasn’t a deep hole so I didn’t use any.

Will there be oil in stator? Just curious why you put liquid gasket there ;)

Yes oil in on every modern bikes flywheel/Stator housing that I can think of.
