Update: by swapping the right trigger and right analogue on an 8Bitdo Pro 2 I'm told you can use analogue on this! You'll need to use the software to manually switch them over. The port was delayed in order for the dev to make it run as smoothly as possible. So glad it worked out fairly well

@@SouperGoose62 - Thanks for responding. I love when a developer/publisher ensures that the quality of a game is met before physical release. However, I saw on another KZfaq channel that there is an Update. An Update?!? For a game over five years old? Do you know what that Update is for?

@@NYCJoeBlack I'm not entirely sure, I'm on PS4 and they often have new tournament events and cars to unlock, which require updates. That could be what they're referring to.

Same here, I wanted this on Switch but didn’t think it was possible. Bought the Physical version this morning and have been playing all day and haven’t been disappointed. They really pulled off the impossible with this one.

Wreckfest on Switch is by far worth the money. What a fun game. The races are so much fun when your targeting certain drivers Dead Fred can suck it.

Was glad to hear you mention Destruction Derby, because that was the first place my mind went. Your in-depth Switch reviews kick ass. They might genuinely be some of the best I've _ever_ seen. 'Only thing that keeps me from watching more is that it feels like the majority are digital titles, and I'm physical or nothing. (Was glad to hear _this particular_ title has a physical release, though. 👌)

the first time I saw this running on the switch via an promotional video i was curious. Then i saw actual gameplay videos...Well I have to admit that it is a nice breath of fresh air to have a newer racing game in the vein of Destruction Derby which runs just remarkable well on mobile switch hardware. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and footage with us.

I played Wreckfest on my friend's PS4 a couple of months and was amazed at the level of detail. Every crash looked amazing. Now I'm just glad i'll be able to play this masterpiece in the bed... *Or at work* >:D

I am really really impressed ... Even on Xbox Series S/X it runs bad but holy moly on 30 fps on switch ? Many less demanding game can't even come close :D

Thank you for reviewing this game, SwitchUp! I'm interested with this game as it got heavy physics simulation, and pretty pleased to see that it runs pretty well on Switch. Now, there should be no excuse to release a muddy, super low-res and ugly racer on Switch isn't it? *I'm looking at you, WRC series

God, I love this kind of Switch ports. Devs who really know what they're doing, delivering performance and image quality you simply cannot expect. This game looks fantastic, and after seeing this video, I'll pick it up. 🙂👍

I got my copy early over the weekend, been enjoying this port but I really hope the developers fix the nearest neighbour scaling in handheld mode, it looks overly pixelated because the game operates below 720p (dynamic res) and upscales back to 720p in a crude manner. Very few Switch games do this and it’s frustrating that Wreckfest is one of the games that does, because otherwise it’s a very impressive port

This game is awesome and plays great on the Switch. It certainly takes some performance sacrifices to make it work on the hardware but the final product still captures the overall experience and gameplay so well, I can’t complain. Definitely my favorite racing game on the Switch.

I knew racing could be a full contact sport....now this is a game I think I can get behind. Nothing gets the heart racing as crashing into one another while riding customized lawnmowers. I still plan on giving it a go on Game Pass first to make sure it has that enjoyment factor that it looks to have.

be aware on the PC xbox gamepass, Tournament mode has not been updated since last summer. I assume the Tournament mode for the switch will get the same Tournament updates the PC and console versions get. But if can yse gamepass for free, be good way to checkout WF

I’ve played this game on my Xbox Series S, and my PS5. But I still ordered this for my Switch, and it duly arrived on Thursday. I try not to compare directly, as why would I play on my TV when I can do that on the other systems. But on handheld, it’s just so much fun, and plays plenty well enough that I haven’t got frustrated by the switch version.

8bitdo pro 2 with analog acceleration and braking does work with this game. Just open the software and swap the right stick and triggers and you have yourself a full console experience definitely picking this game up. the idea of playing it on the go and with such good performance is too hard to resist

I bought this game for my Switch, which I recently bought, and I own Wreckfest for my Xbox One and I am SHOCKED how good this game looks and how well it holds up. I almost can't even tell the difference between them. Bugbear must have some wizards working for them because this game should not be this good. I absolutely love it

Tons of fun and runs great, but i’ve been experiencing some bugs.... one is that is constantly warns me that i have another series in progress, and now the “press Y to reset” prompt keeps getting stuck flashing for no reason and throughout an entire race.

Holy cow! I had no idea Bugbear was even trying to port this to Switch. This is some serious witchcraft. Wreckfest is one of the most fun racing games out there. On Switch, this is now at the top of racing games on the system. Between this, No Man's Sky, and Dying Light, I am endlessly blown away by the console and the devs who put their games on it.

Physics engines in games are really well optimized these days for a long time they were kind of over complicated the player wouldn't see or experience most of the results think of gta4-gta5 it's uses the same physics engine but it's been massively simplified for performance

This to me proves that Bugbear is one of the best game developers in the industry. I'm convinced they've harnessed some kind of dark magic to make this game work so well on a system with so many limitations. Just, how the hell did they do it?
