The Dynamite Kid/Bret Hart one made me sad. Bret always prided himself on being a safe worker, and I don’t blame him for feeling the way he did after Dynamite responded the way he did when Bret did accidentally hurt him.

I remember hearing about how dangerous Ahmed Johnson was in the ring. I’m not surprised to hear that Faarooq tried to legitimately injure him.

Faarooq broke Ahmed Johnsons ribs before Ahmed ever did anything to Faarooq. Faarooq wanted to stiff Ahmed because Ahmed had been stiff with other wrestler friends of Faarooq

@@davidrosensin7985 lots of wrestlers get concussed, they dont start trying to rip their oppnents heads off Kurt Angle got concussed after a stunt with HHH and an announcer table went bad, you didnt see him beating anyone up after, he was confused but finished the match the right way

The Perry Saturn shoot is the worst of these in my opinion. Mike bell, as a result of the injuries to his neck and back, became addicted to painkillers and ended up in rehab where he was found dead after a heart attack. RIP

It didn't even look like Saturn got hurt very badly by the botch either. I had to watch it a couple times to find the spot. Now compare that to what goldberg did to the undertaker or when Rick boogs landed on his head at wrestlemania.

the story with umaga and steevo was that steevo just didn't know he was supoissed to stay down, so umaga had to make the fight look legitimate and keep hurting him until he stayed down.

Lol yeah it's something you can watch now and Steve-o says that he didn't know he was supposed to stay down and even tried to plead with Umaga to stop attacking him instead of selling and staying on the ground. He even said when he went backstage to Vince, Vince was actually ecstatic at what happened (Vince pretty much likes his big boys looking real dominate after all)

And to think, in interviews, Ahmed Johnson talks about how he owes people some receipts for their stiff wrestling against HIM. Shame that some wrestlers often use other performers to protect themselves first or simply to be straight up bullies knowing they can get away with some of it.

@@Rschr101 Probably because Faarooq was/is respected as a great worker and locker room leader whereas Ahmed was seen by pretty much everyone as unsafe and a diva. Is it alright Faarooq hurt him first...well after the amount of people Ahmed had hurt...I'll leave that up to you to decide.

@@mrt6878 I think APA were responsible for a lot of frat boy behaviour that was never punished and implictly supported backstage. if they still acted that way today I'd say they should be blackballed. it was wrong and time won't change that. it'd be a bit late to do anything about now and by all reports al lot of the douchbaggery going on in the business has matured. sure it took grown men a decade or 2 to get there but, seems like they've got there eventually.

I heard Steve-O from Jackass talking about this, he took responsibility and acknowledged it was his own fault, he was high on cocaine at the time and wasn't listening when they told him that until he pretended to be out cold, a professional wrestler was going to keep beating on him because that's what they're taught to do. So he kept getting up rather than staying down, leaving Umaga no choice but to legit beat him down.

Saturn and the APA were well known company enforcers, most federations use them to teach other talent not to shoot in their matches (or else). Saturn wasn't one of WWE's enforcers, but old habits die hard, so he was the one punished. The APA was rewarded for "teaching a lesson" to Public Enemy after being instructed or "implied" to do so from management

I remember the Acolytes/public enemy thing😂😂 i loved that, public enemy where lame as hell and as a kid i thought they were just beating them so bad cause they sucked. Had no idea they were unprofessional and got that treatment, but it was awesome either way.
