Mostly good list and fun moments, but ejecting Solo at WM39 seems like a really weak number 1 considering that Solo interfered again later. It actually devalues all the times referees have sent someone to the back as they can just return and keep messing with the match with no punishment.

Also it means that all those other refs who were or will be in a similar situation now look even more stupid if they don't make that call. I don't say they shouldn't have done this, but it should have been more impactfull.

I agree. After the 3 count, the ref would have seen Solo and should have restarted the match.

Exactly! But it’s not just the ref that looks dumb, it’s WWE as a whole looking dumb. The fact that they don’t discipline their champion for consistently cheating to win is much worse than blaming bad officiating. They should have made the stipulation that Roman will lose the title(s) if anyone interferes on his behalf like a year ago. They look stupid by not doing so. Had this argument a few weeks ago with some jabroni Roman mark claiming he was going to break the record reign. Not gonna happen. No one is topping Bruno anytime soon, and it absolutely won’t be a cheating heel if it ever happens at all. Hogan and Bruno had long baby face reigns, and that works so long as you hold fan interest. Cheating heels can only have so long of a reign before the company should be stepping in to create a fair fight. It’s historically what created some legendary gimmick matches (cage, hell in a cell, lumberjack, etc). I don’t know why, but WWE really seems to like walking the fine of fans interested and fans tuning out.

I always wanted to see someone come out and say 'we will not end this match on a DQ for interference, but if anyone DOES interfere, we'll fine them $500k and they will never get a title shot." Of course, if you do that once....

I recall one match with the Bella Twins where the referee actually drew a 1 and a 2 on the back of their hands respectively on order to prevent them from using Twin Magic.

Twin Magic USED to be more plausible for the Bellas. There was a point when literally the only way you could tell Brie and Nikki apart was by their eyebrows: One had eyebrows with a natural curve, and the other had eyebrows that had a very sharp angle to them.

I mean if thats the only way you can tell them apart...then good one on ya. Even identical twins have multiple things that are not the same so if you can't tell, then you're not paying attention or it doesn't matter which is which.

I loved Eddie's antics, he had the classic facials and perfectly animated cheats. You saw it, you knew it, and sometimes you had to hand it to him. The Twin magic was a great idea but you needed identical twins and even if they had been too identical fans would have seen it coming miles away. Still it is a classic work.

yep on TV it was declared a draw but the live crowd booed both participants. not because the match ended in a draw but it was because they knew the WWE were idiots. Smackdown back in '07 were taped on Tuesdays and aired on TV on Fridays and this match for the live audience they saw the Undertaker land on his feet first but WWE edited it to make it look like both Taker and Batista landed at the same time for TV tapings and to continue their storylined rivalry, and robbed the crowd of their intelligence

You could see Batista drop after Taker in the background of Taker's side of the replay. SD being taped then saved the whole thing and allowed them to make the edit before it aired...

I watched that Jericho - Triple H Live with the Hebner fast count. We all bought it hook line and sinker. That was near the end of when I watched Wrestling, but it was one of the Top Moments for sure. We all felt Jericho got screwed. We actually FELT it. Immediately after Vince and Co ran down to the Ring and the Match was redone with Jericho losing (hence Jericho being screwed).

The double climbing the cage and both escaped on the floor was originally done on Saturday Nights Main Event January 3rd 1987 during the steel cage match between Hulk Hogan and Mr Wonderful Paul Orndorff where both climbed out and both refs declared both wrestlers the winner but the match restarted.

Without a doubt. His run as Ric Flair’s mini-me in WCW was epic. Was very happy to see him scooped up by WWE in ‘01. I got to meet him at WM33 and told him that I greatly appreciate him and his eyes turned all doughy. He was obviously busy but he took a few moments to continue chatting w me… He and I are both horror movie freaks. Super nice man!

The watching the replays thing with the cage match was cool, but there was always one detail that bugged me. They show the camera shots side by side, and you can clearly see Batista in the background, still in mid air, on the shot of 'Taker hitting the floor.

This was a really great video, I really feel the referees always know what’s going on and just play it off, for my example I will speak about the last clip with Roman reigns and Cody because I do believe the referee saw Solo Sikoa hit Cody with the belt because he was looking straight but a individual can still see the right and left sides of their surrounding because of eye vision So he heard the belts sound and saw it from the left side of the ring.

a modern referee that i love watching is aubrey edwards. when she turns around from being distracted to find a guy on the mat in the fetal position, hands on his junk, her reaction of 'i know what just happened, but i didn't see it, so i can't call it' is just awesome.

Love the video, it's time the refs get some shine in the spot light. I have always thought that you guys should do more videos on the refs, I've also thought that you guys could do a video where you talk about all the wrestlers wr have lost over the last 20 or so years, just as a remembrance to them. Or even do some updated videos on your older videos. But that's always just in case you guys can't think of anything, you all definitely come up with stuff that I never think about. One instance of the referee being smart was in over the limit of 2011 when miz and Riley tried to cheat to win back the wwe championship. Miz used the belt on raw a few weeks prior but the ref saw right through it when he saw that the miz had the belt before being being awarded it after the match. Then at over the limit during the I quit match with the miz and John Cena, Alex Riley used his cellphone and played a small audio clip of John saying I quit. The ref found the phone and restarted the match.

Twin magic was done by Demolition. Despite, Ax and Smash not resembling each other at all during the Summer Slam 1990 match against the Hart Foundation. The referee allowed it.

The first incident on this list isn’t quite correct. It was actually Dave Hebner, not Earl, who was refereeing the ladder match at WM10. I specifically remember Vince making the call, “David Hebner is angry” right before Diesel was ejected from the match.
