Join us as we spend 2 days trying to work into the right spot for a mountain gobbler. I met this gobbler a few days prior (Day 31) and he was ready for the "picking" that day. He roosts in a "bulletproof" location and now has an alarm squad to help stay safe. #PinhotiProject #TurkeyHunting #Hunting

I swear, I don't think I've EVER seen a turkey hunter move around as much as Chubbs! Sit still man!!

It's good to actually see how other people actually TURKEY HUNT. Hunters hone their skills over the years doing what works for them. My style is similar, but after 30 yrs pursuing, I'm more on the patient side, and less calling. I've mellowed with age, lol. Curiosity is my favorite tool. I know it also takes getting close enough and a few cuts to set some turkeys off. I can understand the "get to work" part makes it become more aggressive. Patience works, and sometimes aggressive works. That's what makes these videos great, watching others respectfully hunt a turkey. It's about more than just a camera over a hunters shoulder killing something. You are showing the decisions leading up to, and capturing it. Thanks for sharing.

Love those mountain gobblers. They can skirt a ridge line just out of sight and go 3 ridges over in a couple of minutes.

Them boys have a few fine ridges they like to hang on. You'll see that neighboring ridge his buddy was screaming on there in 3 days I believe. They know how to use that narrow ridgetops to their advantage.

Addicted to the Pinhoti Project but I find myself wanting to choke chubbs! He moves around way too much.......unnecessary hand movements, fooling with his hat, move his gun all around and turning around to talk to you while the turkey is right there ! He will learn, but it's painful to watch. I have watched everyone of your videos(many of them several times) and it seems like when chubbs is on the gun, your average drops dramatically. On the other hand, your average is perfect (from what I have seen) when your girlfriend is packing. Love Chubbs excitement and enthusiasm but man he needs to pretend he is a rock when the bird is inside 150 yards. I promise if you can get him to sit completely still then his batting average will drastically increase. Jay

Those kind of hunts with birds just out of sight have resulted in lots of days stubbornly chasing a bird that I should have just left to find a dumb one, but man it feels good to make em pay on another day.

Typically for mapping we are using OnX or Gaia. Always planning our approach and his location using topos.

Used to bike into gamelands all the time up until about 15 years ago. This year I decided to get another mountain bike and get my fat behind further back in earlier than the lazy asses that never leave sight of their cars.

Your buddy in front- no telling how many subordinate gobblers milling outside the harem he may spook off playing 75 yard roulette on the boss Tom by moving around too much scratching leaves
