You Suck at Producing

Having multiple melodies in your track is like having multiple children. Wrong. However, in today’s lesson, we’re gonna learn how to write melodies that balance and play well with one another.

Those kind of videos give me so much relief as a beginner producer. No expert flexing on his super clean RGB selfmade studio. No random presumption or expectation of some (for me as a beginner) confusing techniques that "everybody should know". No high-end example beats that are created within a minute that raise the bar to infinity. Just some guy showing the approaches to a neat sound and teaching us the most important thing about the journey of learning this whole music thing: Have fun, don´t take yourself too serious all the time and literally just create stuff that inspires you :) Thanks man.

Holy shit I've always been recording the arpeggios in audio by resampling but your way is much more flexible! Great tip! I've also been sometimes tapping in melodies rhythmically first, the reason being that it's pretty damn hard to play a keyboard well.

What an amazing set of melodies. Sorry, but had to "steal" them haha. I checked your soundcloud, you do not use the stuff from your tutorials. Don't know why. They always sound great. @Melodies: It sounds a "bit" different here. And my drumset is also totally different and I only play it on 101bpm. Still sounds really nice. Nice accident I had - forgot to unlink the Midi track where I used the Arp (the stuff you did at the end with "smallboy" and it played always into the new Midi track where the pure Arp notes are. Interesting combination. I am always amazed what nice stuff can happen by accident with music.
