I liked hearing about your writing and publishing plans. :) They way that you talk about each book in the series sounds a bit like episodes of a TV show - they’re not entirely self-contained, but you still want them to feel like satisfying pieces of a whole.

I am on the same path of writing. Writing a very long novel burns me out. My debut is around 150k and I’m both concerned for my mental health as a writer and the strain that readers could face for reading a very long book. I decided to make the book and the rest of the books within the same world into episodic fiction. And so far, that works better for me ☺️

I think that's a great idea. I really believe this could be the perfect route for self-published authors. It sounds like you're doing great Nicole, so keep up the good work! :)

I think it’s awesome that you plan to do some self publishing! I’m still growing with my writing craft and learning the market but I’ve found a ton of tips and resources from Chris Fox’s self publishing channel & Dave Chesson’s blog/channel Kindlepreneur. You’ve got a wealth of knowledge when it comes to writer craft and are a talented story teller, good luck on this journey!

Piranesi is on my wish list, I'd very much like to read it too :) I loved Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell by the same author, so I'll see...
