Wrong Turn 2: Dead End is unironically the best and sleaziest entry in the franchise. Henry Rollins definitely elevates the material a lot with his character.

"Wrong Turn 2: Dead End" is one of the best horror sequels. It was so good, none of the following sequels even came close to touching it.

Man if you do this whole series, I can't even imagine how little of the last movie you're gonna be actually able to show.

True story time I once had a housecall and they hadn't updated the patient's address so I ended up driving into the mountains, ended up a mile from pavement outside this creepy looking house. I go to knock on the door and it's one of those mudroom porches that you you have to enter so you can knock on tbe actual front door. I step inside and look down and there is a skull and I think what the hell have I got myself into, and then I have two choices run screaming like a little kid back to the car or knock on the door play it by ear. All I could picture is getting shot in the back if I ran, knock on the door and a young guy comes to the door, I was expecting an old lady so that did not make it better. I say "I'm doctor ____ and I'm here to see ____". He goes"Oh that's my grandmother, she lives in the senior citizen building now" So I said sorry to bother you and got the hell out of dodge. Once I get in the car driving away I realize the skull was so white it had to be a Halloween decoration

So, I watched this when I was 13 on Halloween. The next weekend my father and I go on a backpacking trip. Along the way I hear a howling voice, that I swear sounded just like the tree climbing mutant brother, echoing around us. I start freaking out, holding my crappy pocket knife, keeping my eyes up on the tree line. Buddy (father) doesn't hear the howls and just tells me to calm down. We set up our campsite with him not listening to me. Around 9 pm a ranger shows up to make sure we got to our campsite & I ask him about the howling. His response was "Oh, there's a mentally challenged group a trail over from the one y'all took. One of them was screaming the entire time."

So, soon after this movie came out I was in a field class on Nantuckett where we watched some guy dig a well. He let us hold his Dowsing Rod, told us his theories on rust and then invited us to his workshop. As we pulled in, there was a moment of silence and I asked if anyone else had seen Wrong Turn. One of my classmates said "God Damn it Liz"

This was the best Lloyd clip so far. The punch line made me laugh out loud in public.

My only knowledge of this movie comes from YMS’s review of Frozen in which he made a compilation of people comparing their film to Jaws and some guy said “hey, you know how Jaws made you not wanna go into the ocean? Wrong Turn makes you not want to go camping”.

The problem with skull bowls is you can never get them nicely even and balanced, there's always a bit of a wobble. Really takes some of the pleasure out of it.

As always great review Brad despite you're voice being down a bit. However you made me laugh as always and reminded me of when horror movies was still somewhat decent and not the shit that most of it is today.

So fun fact... I drove through West Virginia at one point, and spent about five hours without internet because there was no cell service anywhere. Literally drove 30 miles to get internet and food, which I was directed to by a sign that said internet was that way. So unless you had the foresight to download the maps, you're out of luck.

Great review, Cinema Snob. I love the movie. The beginning scene with the Southern gas station attendant is just great, his thick accent and missing teeth. A couple of times I would feel asking him, "Are you speaking English? I can hardly understand what you're saying?"

I saw a preview screening of the film and I remember it being just okay. Snob's review makes me want to revisit it. Not sure about the sequels, though. I haven't heard much fanfare over them and surprised that a horror icon was born out of it.

I rented this movie when I was 12 not realizing it was the hills have eyes in virginia, kinda disturbed me but I loved it.

I, too am from "regular Virginia." I got lost in West Virginia a couple of times. I used to give that state a lot of crap back then. It really was crazy driving through the back country there. Knowing now what "regular Virginia" would become, I WISH it were still full of mutant hillbillies. Those were the GOOD days in comparison!

I like the wrong turn series for the most part. I think wrong turn is alright and wrong turn 2 is definitely my favorite one. Wrong turn 3, 4 and 5 are alright and they all have there moment's. I didn't really care for the 6th one though and the remake actually wasn't that bad. I actually ended up liking the remake way more than I thought I was going to. The series isn't the best horror franchise but there are some entertaining and fun movie's in the series that I enjoy.

I cannot go anywhere near Charleston, WV. I have severe breathing problems and tons of mucous whenever I do. Anyone else have the same problem? Is the air poison? And, no, it is not elevation or seasonal. Been near there at different seasons and have ventured to higher elevations.

The aughts was when I got really into horror movies. Would be awesome if you reviewed more of them from that time period. *cough* Wolf Creek *cough*
