TB, if you enjoyed Hearthstone - please have a look at 'Infinity Wars'. That game has all the depth you can ask for, looks great, plays great and is probably the best TCG coming out anytime soon (in my opinion at least). Would more than love to hear your criticism of that game as I am slowly but surely getting into it and your criticism is always solid.

THis game is super good but a way to make it better.... don't make the quests FRICKING DAILIES (or atleast make it 3 quests a day so you can get a pack a day :P).

This card game would be awesome in real life, especially if the board actually had the deck holders, i would buy this in a heartbeat :D

I'm not talking about PvE. I'm talking core mechanics - the 'holy trinity' type stuff. ALL classes being capable of being specced DPS takes away from a class whose only option *IS* DPS. Mages have all the weaknesses of being *the* glass cannons without the extreme DPS that should go with it. The current PvE game was molded after the current class setup, so it would be circular logic to point to it as the reason you couldn't properly balance them.

Regarding the influence of matchmaking on the pay to win issue, it's actually fairly horrible. If you're good at the game but don't pay for power, you wind up getting matched against horrible players with excellent decks all day. Let's say you win 50% (perfect matchmaking). That means that half your games you are losing to players that YOU KNOW ARE WORSE THAN YOU. Maybe someone out there finds that fun.

The only differences between a standart and 'golden' version of a card is the frame colour and that the card gets an animation instead of static artwork, which is bretty nice :D

What I noticed about the golden cards is that they appear more frequently in your hand? I don't know if anybody has experienced this, but I sure have.

It just makes game play a lot simpler and smoother. Creatures can have health that does not completely restore at the end of each turn and randomization is easier. (On an off-note, it's easier for Blizzard to sell you cards, but by no means necessary)

Been a while since I played, but as I recall the elemental wasn't a permanent pet and the invisibility required a long 'timer' before going active. Both are gimped versions of something other classes have. And you've made my point. They have the LOWEST survivability and are intended to be glass cannons. They should BE the top 3 by a heavy margin, not 'on the top 5'. Blizzard has been struggling to define mages since the game came out, though.

just got my beta key this morning and they have server maintenance haha but i have time to watch your vids and learn the game from them so thank you very much cynical. Just starting to watch your vids.

It's cost is reduced by how much life you have lost, meaning you can play it for free if you are at 20 hit points or below. Other cards cost is reduced by number of minions on the board, etc...

Why I put brackets around Antarctica as not counting it in the list but adding it just because lists. China has a larger surface area if we are counting in disputed areas of the country which we should as they are China owned areas currently regardless if the locals disagree. There seems to be a question over all this depending on disputed areas, waters owned by each country and such. Search the issue on google and see what you believe.

Sure there is nostalgia. As a player who raided in 40man groups and had to grind and grind to overcome an obstacle (fire res grinding/crafting for example) that still feels as how it should be. For me (or us) that is nostalgia. Now it's (for me..) all like a microwave meal. Quick, easy and much the same. But nothing like a meal you spended hours on, and might or might not be delicious. Sometimes it might suck, but when it's great, its _that_ more rewarding.

Having never played card games before, this being on the iPad, f2p and easy to get into. I can definitely see myself picking this up and playing it on my train commute to work. Totalbiscuit being the nerd that he is and has played every single card game out there might not find it entertaining and "easy", but this is something that will just look gorgeous on a retina display and iPad 5

Can you summon creatures after you have atacked? If you could, there is a lot of room for creative play. You can just consume the harpy with the void terror after you attacked with power overwhelming. Pretty cool.

Honestly i feel that the druid is going to be the most powerful deck they have their own version of the coin called innervate which gives you 2 mana for a turn with no cost a cost 3 card that heals you or a minion for a damage and a version of arcane intellect that also gives you an option to deal damage with a wealth of buff cards and an ability to summon huge creatures very quickly.

Actually the current "meta" is that Druids are the ones to beat and their versatility along with the Druid's activated power bears that out big time.

It's different in many ways that changes how you play the game. There are hero cards with abilites for each player, mana is gained every round and not part of your deck, mana is capped at 10, and mana is used for all cards and not broken into different types. This causes it to play much different in terms of strategy to Magic. This seems no where near as complex as magic also. Like TB says in the video it is a bit more like a streamlined WOW TCG.

I like the idea of mana just building up over time. One thing that could always kill a MAGIC game was mana lock. This looks interesting.

Kevin unlike MTG you have to target a creature to attack it unless that creature has taunt, which forces the player to attack it.

Truth be told, seeing how this game shapes up it would be the one I'd recomend to get into the genre. It is very newby friendly, has a great tutorial and is on the lower end when it comes to things you have to grasp, everything is brought down to the genres core mechanics. And it's a Bliz game so you can be shure it is super polished. I'd go as far as say that you are very much part of the target audience of this game.

I didn't hear of Faëria in the beginning there, I pledged for their kickstarter and heading into their beta. After researching all the card games out there they seemed the most interesting and more like Scrolls, one-time-pay. You should check it out, their kickstarter is soon funded and they seem like a cool group of developers :)

Here's the real combo, after Power Overwhelming on the Harpy, you play the Void Walker guy and eat the Harpy. I'm pretty sure the Void Walker will get the benefit of the Power Overwhelming permanently! Unless it doesn't factor in buffs when eating.
