Hi all! Apologies for the radio silence (I mean, was it 10 days?), but I've been a bit tied up with work and...
("Oh, Jesus, mate, no-one cares...")
Anyway, here's something different - a guy on KZfaq ranting about something tedious! Oh, also, a big, fat ceramic "fashion" watch. The watch in question belongs to a close family member, so the next time you hear my voice might well be on The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Haha, I know! It’s a great movement running extremely well, but it’s also frighteningly expensive for what it is. £1080 was the price, though! My fault - I misread in the video and had to correct myself on screen 🥲it’s still about £1000 more than I’d be happy to pay though 😮‍💨

I had a Nixon Rocker back in the early 2000s so have a bit of sepia toned nostalgic fondness for the brand but haven’t really kept up with them since and this watch makes me glad I didn’t 😂 This watch just makes me ask “why?” Why is it so thick? Why doesn’t anything on it line up? Why did they decide to use a bracelet material that once it ages looks as though they were inspired by The Big Book of British Smiles? And why does it cost so much!? Phenomenal video as always LP 👏👏👏👏 Oh and congratulations on hitting 1000 subscribers 🎉🍻🍾

I think some of their digital watches were cool, but have been put off the brand completely thanks to this one. And I’m glad I’m not the only one facing an existential crisis after having handled this one. Yep, big “Lisa needs braces” vibes - and damn, your gag batters mine! 🤣and thanks so much, mate - I always appreciate the kind words of support. 🙌🙌🙌

Is that honestly what the price was? Seriously?? I'd guess £30-£40 as a quartz, maybe £140 given the movement... That price is unbelievable, but even more incredible that some unlucky (& presumably blind or stupid) bought it!!! Good video thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

I about fell off my seat laughing when you mentioned the price....only liked two things about this watch, the movement and that hour hand as it looked very unique....everyone's tastes are different but I can't help but think of the truly cracking watches you could pick up for that sort of cash....🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⌚

The hour hand has a kind of Nixon logo integrated, which I have to agree is pretty cool… But £1080 for that?! Imagine being torn between an Aquis and this 👀I say Aquis, you’re right, though - the list would be endless

My brother asked me to "fix" his dead Nixon coin dial quartz. What a piece of junk. Battery replaced and the minute hand was still stuck. What does he get next? Another Nixon. smfh... BTW Congrats on 1k subscribers!

The digital ones definitely have a sporty and kind of minimalist appeal, particularly given the negative LCD displays, but their analogue models…ouch. I like the dial and hands. However the rest of it - nah. Btw maybe ultrasonicbbath would have helped clean this watch for the review 😂

@@LumePip No big deal. It looks like, there are screws at both ends of the link so I would have to be able to hold one screw from turning while I turn the other. I've never seen link pins like this, before.

I see you've done the for the views, which is fine. But you need to appreciate that different things make different people happy. People think we're nutters for buying new watches every 3 weeks. If someone wants to buy and enjoy a Nixon an wear it every day then let them. Let people be happy.

I totally agree, mate, but while I'm sure some Nixon watches are well made and priced accordingly, this isn't, and people are being ripped off by the brand.

I agree some of the digital models are pretty cool looking (though I’ve not handled them) but I think they’re also probably in the right price bracket. This is…well, yeah 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

When i started taking interest in watches, it was Nixon that caught my eye, so I can't hate on them. However, this example is like a cheap movie gone wrong. The ceramic looks like it was peeled off the bathroom walls of an abandoned insane asylum. The price this thing was going for is more than any of the Oris watches i currently own. Holy shit

They pulled the same mistake as Sternglas with their Kanton. Someone at Nixon got too greedy, and put out a model too overpriced. I’d buy that for five to six hundred, but definitely not two thousand.

I'm not futher mentioning the crown at 9, which I find is a silly thing unless you're left handed. I thought all the time these shortcomings could be forgiven to cheap watch like this, until I heard the price! It was then when my jaw dropped! 😳🤣

Great video…really saddens me when you see people in the street wearing a fashion watch or dare I say an Apple Watch…I want to go up to them and explain that they could buy a really good watch with real heritage and credentials which will last a lifetime.

It looks like something you'd get out of a claw machine game at a carnival. Most all "fashion" watches are cheaply made, and utter shit. This one has a quality movement, but the rest of it is catastrophic.

Haha he has seen it, and thankfully is very supportive and knew I’d be giving it a kicking. He’s very aware it’s maybe not an enthusiast’s watch of choice, but I think that made me appreciate his generosity even more 😂because we both knew I wasn’t going to hold back
