Actually no, it was written due to happenstance. Example Toric's quick exit so he could go do vikings episodes. And probably the totally retarded end to season 6, with the whole cartel/cia/rico angle. Ooops! we got another season! Just make it all go away!

I absolutely love this show. I have never seen something that has been able to capture the human condition the way this show has. It is truly a work of art. The complexity of every character, the costume, music, acting, directing and writing is all on point, all the time. It is so beautiful and I am so grateful to be able to be a part of this, even if it is just as a viewer. Love all of you guys!

What I love about this show is how it exposes the frailty of humans' intent, and our inability to have complete control over life because we are all connected... Everything each of us do reverberates... And we need to work together with an honest intent to do so... Trusting in a good plan... Not a destructive one. The symbolism of so many things in this show, so speaks to the human spirit and it's human journey. This show was beautifully violent poetry. Very, very well done!

I actually binge watched it in two continuous sessions. All 7 seasons. 91 episodes 4 years ago. I just rewatched it but this time it took 10 days. First time I would try stopping at 42 hours and be like one more episode. I finally slept about 10 hours and started second session upon waking and that lasted nonstop for a couple more days.

SOA was one of those rare ensemble cast-based series where everything just "worked" in a fantastic way. It was exceptional in so many different facets; great writing, great actors, great camera work. With ensemble casts, there is a "rhythm" to the performances and in the dialogue; being almost "melodic" in the delivery; and it's not an easy thing to do well. SOA absolutely sparkles in this regard, with very few shows being able to deliver in that way, where the perfect actors play perfect characters suited to them, bringing a great writer's words to life. This is a very rare quality, it doesn't happen much (or enough). The West Wing and The Sopranos were other shows that were also like this, where the perfect ensemble cast animated perfect writing.

Hi Kurt, thank you so much for writing S.O.A. Totally love it,I've binged watched the series over and over again. I'd like to see a potrayal of how the m.c started, like young Gemma pregnant with jackson and how she lost her other son Thomas. The actual death of john teller, how it came to pass ect. Maybe a feature length movie.. I was so so sad when it ended, plus how it ended with jackson going out on his terms. I cried many times watching and cringed and jumped a number of times to. But what a great series, best thing I've seen in years.

Great series I've seen I'll a very long time. Kurt is a very good story teller. I hated to see it end like that because Jax is gorgeous but I think that was the best ending for the series because we know that he won't be coming back. Kurt is a genius. I wish he would write about the first 9.

Hell yea !!! What I love so much about the show is that it is not this usual bad guys/good guys bullshit, bit much more realistic people. Even good people have to do bad things from time to time, and even bad people do good from time to time. But that is BY FAR not the only reason ! His writing is also not predictable, like most other shows, where you know weeks before that certain things are going down. Kurt really surprises you, which is hard to do good, and he does it good. But he also has a brilliant cast to put life into his words. Together they make the best TV show in the last 10 years !!!

I love the writing, how wonderful to see so much depth in so many characters and a story that fed on itself as time passed. Even though the end made me cry like a child I applauded Kurt Sutter for being smart enough to burn all the bridges including the characters to create a definitive end to a 7 year story. Most television shows never do anything like this and a far from so elegant a conclusion. This is definitely a show worth the cost of having the dvd set in my library. This will be watched on Netflix and my dvd player many times. On to the Bastard Executioner!!!

Yea, I think the term "genius" is used way too often lately, but I really do put Kurt Sutter in that category. He brought this world in his head to life on screen so vividly, and that's no easy feat. I'm really hoping he makes some kind of sequel (or prequel) to SOA.

One of Unsers more emotional and I feel best scenes was when he was in his office getting ready to go meet with agent Stahl to set her up for her execution. He knew he was crossing a line that would change him forever. Putting his issued badge and gun away and taking out the throw away. Also when he was with Agent Stahl waiting for the guys to arrive for the final outcome he had to witness and cover up for. Unser is one of my favorites on the show and I hope he keeps finding a way to stay alive

One of the greatest shows ever...Kurt Sutter needs to do more. Prequel as well as a sequel, Able as a prospect, then at the head of the table. I know Kurt met with many MC's to be as authentic as possible, but Jax wearing tennis shoes is something that a biker does not do. If you go down the first thing that comes off are the shoes and the second thing, possibly, are the toes /feet.

C1Rob1990 Unser sacrifices himself for Gemma. I mean Jax told him to "just leave" but he honestly really had *nothing left*, as he responded to Jax. Jax didn't need to kill him but then he would have technically been witness to when Jax had to take out Gemma willingly, in "Red Rose" What I think is crazy is how we all see SoA characters as real people in a world we feel we've lived alongside with them through. I'll admit, Sons is & will probably always be my #1 favorite series ever seen. Ever! Love Kurt Sutter & Katey Segal too. Power couple !

The scene in the hospital after her hand gets slammed in the door when she's being "abducted," she has a scene with Jax where she basically says she gives up, and she's nothing now, and she screams at Jax to leave her alone, and they're both crying. It's either the same ep, or one ep before Wendy shows up, and she smashes her cast out of anger.

I'm not sure if you have time to read all of our comments (I figure probably not) but I want to believe you do. I also understand that you've moved on to other shows/work but for people like me this is new and oh so real. At the time when the show was coming on each week my husband and I were truck drivers (actually driving through Hollywood every Monday and looking back I wonder if I'd ever seen you filming and didn't know it)...sorry, back to my point. We didn't have much time to watch TV and were never home the nights this aired, BUT, when I became disabled and quit driving but hubby was still on the road, I found the show. I have binged it AT LEAST 8 times (yes the entire 7 seasons). It had become such a part of me I actually dreamt one night that I was a pilot for the "Sons" (not sure how they got a private plane🤔😂) but the dream was AWESOME!! It shows how invested people were and still are in the show. Thank you for that!! I know everyone has a favorite scene/line...mine was Happy saying "he's gotta die, like A LOT"! And of course I follow many of you on instagram and twitter and I watch Juice and Tig's podcast to get some insight into whatever episode they're discussing that day and I find the strangest thing of this all is that many of the actors have never watched the show😎...at least not Theo and Kim... that's bizarre to me because it is such a deep, excellent show!! Ok enough rambling from an old broad...just thanks for putting this out there for us!! Bravo!!

Does anyone know what Jimmy Smits is talking about at 1:17:18? I cannot find a cast member named Donald. I have no idea what he is talking about.

He's talking about the first episode of the 6th season. Toric (Donal Logue) finishes questioning Tara (Maggie Siff) in an interview room and he leaves the room. She kind of quietly breaks down after he leaves.

I am a huge fan and live a very similar life style as my family was heavy into the bikers and drug scene... Everything came to light and everyone is fine now but love watching this show imaging the people that have never seen this life.... I had to watch a season in jail and it was so irritating jax's son got kidnapped and taken to Ireland, jail locks you in your cell at 11pm so to be jerks the guards would shut the tv off with about 5-10 mins left lol

I love the show! ALL the characters are great and the plot never thins. My concern is if they close the show with a similar closing like the Sopranos, leaving us hanging. I would be a bit upset if they did it that way.

What scene is Smits talking about with Maggie? With no dialogue? What season is he talking about?

+Lara42011 I just watched 6x01 and in the middle of the episode is a scene that Smits was describing. It was when she was in jail leaving the interrogation room.

I don’t know if this is true, but somewhere i read that there will be a spin-off show where main characters would be Jax‘s sons,Abel and Thomas. I must say that it would be a great show,no doubt. Aben went through so much since the day he was born,i can only imagine what badass he would be as a president of SoA.

Kurt here is a great prequel movie idea. Tell the story of early SOA club and tie it into the Altamont Speedway concert. Have a similar fictional show with SOA doing security and the fallout of the aftermath, legal, political, music industry, cultural. Imagine the classic bikes, clothes music. Young Otto, Piney,JT, Prospects Chibbs, Tig. Hot young Gemma. Mr. Badger could definitely give ya inside consultation to get the real story out in a fictional platform. Fuck Yea!!!!
