I don't know if it's just me but I dont see anything much cleaner in Spargos gameplay compared to Leo. In this video I only see standard Cloud gameplay.

Exactly what I was thinking too. Lots of the times when Leo was being hit, he could’ve countered. He might’ve made good plays here and there, but his character mastery has gotten sloppy and it shows.

Hell naw nothing but color commentary imo there should always be one person who’s sole purpose is play-by-play especially when there’s as many voices as there was here

Leo plays him entirely based on fundamentals and doesn't really use jokers strengths as much as say omega who just lacks the same levels of fundamentals. The character isn't bad, it's just joker has a lot of catching up to do

TLDR: Leo isn’t grabbing enough against Spargo in some situations

In further explanation, in game one(4:00) Leo went for a dash attack after they missed each other (Spargo Jab 1, 2, 3, and Leo Nair moving) instead of going for grab. While watching it the first time I said “no grab he’s at low percent and under platform???” I understand it was an instinctive decision, but yeah. I think Leo needs to potentially push his grab game with Joker in some scenarios. Joker is just too fast. But I say this all as a die hard Leo fan. I still think Leo has the most potential of all smash players I’ve seen. It’s just my opinion maybe, but we’ve all seen what he can do. Also gonna note that I loved his sneak under the neutral blade beam, bair. 🤌🏼

@@kratos553That’s a good example! There is just so much Leo can push and capitalize on but I don’t think he realizes it. A lot of people players receive coaching and tips (Sparg0 got tips to beat Joker), however Leo doesn’t seem to be getting either. Obviously he is not taking it seriously anymore but a couple tips and coaching go a long way as shown by Sparg0 and Gluto!

Imagine achieveing so much in such little time that that you switch your characters more than once and still whoop pretty much everybody. MKLeo has nothing else to prove. I'm convinced he's playing out of sheer love for the game because most people would have probably retired until the next Massive Circuit by now.

@@karans6762it’s both. He’s getting outplayed because of his lack of practice. He does not try to figure out his characters as much as the other top players and that’s rough, especially with joker who needs consistent practice and elite execution to make him truly shine

@@karans6762 I never said they weren’t better I said it was both lol. But I play joker and you could tell his movement and gun usage is not being used properly. In the cloud joker matchup you can’t just keep landing on top of him with full hop fast fall nairs like he was doing, he need to use his movement to bait more since that’s how joker really shines, he was shielding way too much which restricts jokers movement and let’s cloud pressure him for free, and he wasn’t camping enough with jump gun or standing gun which is what you should be doing when playing defense. I noticed he kept trying to find himself in against Spargo with back air when he should be mixing it up with a b reverse gun to catch his jump or stand and put him in a semi-favorable position in neutral after the stun. It’s the little things that he just doesn’t seem to care to practice anymore solely relying on fundamentals and that’s just not how joker works at his best

He is getting out meta’d and part of it is because of his recovery. The big part of why he’s getting out meta’d is because the game rewards easier to get hard punishes. Joker has hard punishes but the execution is a lot harder so he just gets stuffed about by other characters like a g&w, Steve, Rob, etc

The reason cloud is doing good in this meta even with a bad recovery is because his matchup spread is amazing and he’s way easier to get simpler hard punishes with, especially with that huge back air that does not struggle to kill at all

This was not peak ultimate...Sparg0 outplayed the heck out of Mkleo. Their set at Smash Factor was way more intense. Also, Sparg0's bracket is a dream for him right now. If he doesn't reach grand finals, he can only blame himself. Acola first, then Sonix, and finally potentially Miya...well, ok, they did change the bracket, so now Miya has to fight Dabuz instead of Tweek, which means that he may get upset, and then Tweek or Light might make it to Sparg0, which are less favorable for him. He might still win losers finals, idk.

iirc leo just didnt trust the character which tbf does make sense cuz byleth loses to most top tiers and byleth/joker arent a good dual main (Pika, Sonic, and arguably Sheik are losing mus for both)

That's the transition into early adulthood 😂😂 Some people forget that he was really young when Ultimate came out, and we're 5 years into the game now so naturally many players are developing into late adolescence and transitioning into early adulthood.

A little bit of both. He doesn't dedicate that much time to this anymore while the competition has been on the grind. He used to do 8-hour streams of him practicing which is insane, but now he has other things going on

Its sad how Joker has fallen off. First hit fair is way harder now, has little out of shield options, projectiles are not as good as people think, and does not have scramble options except for bair.
