Rare classic Kung Fu Film! Hsiao Hai (Ting Hwa Chung) is a kung fu mad servant of the Big Boss (Lung Fei). Bullied and abused, he finds himself taken under the personal tutelage of his boss, a skilled master of Chicken style kung fu. Hsiao stops a group of marketplace rowdies in a mischievous slapstick fight that displays the acrobatic finesses of his new Chicken style technique and rises in status with his boss. Soon, Hsiao falls in love with a girl, Shao Hua, who works at a food stall. Shao Hua and her father are Mantis Fist experts and inform Hsiao that his boss is not the upstanding man he appears to be. When the final confrontation comes, Hua Chung Ting lets loose his entire acrobatic expertise with graceful finesse, and also performs some exquisite chicken and mantis forms.

Also used to have this on VHS as a teen in the 90's. I took Kung Fu lessons from a semi-private instructor. No school, we used to work out at a park right next to my house. Such amazing fun and fitness from ages 16-19. Years I'll never forget. Wish I could have them back. Me and 4-5 other students used to trade movies back and forth. This was always one of my favorites (plus Gordon Liu and the 36th chamber), and I think of it often. The final fight scene is just amazing athleticism from all involved. The Wu Shu, the Mantis, the Eagle Claw.....what epic fun captured on film forever. May this be carried on forever!

Amazing choreography. Kam Yin-Fei was fun to watch. From what I searched on her she only did 2 films. She looked the part.. cute and deadly. The chem between Ting and her was great. Ofcourse so was Lung Fei.

She is absolutely fantastic here and yes, it's a pity that she did only 2 movies. I guess she didn't have any Martial Arts Background, but with her acrobatic/gymnastic skills she looked really good in all kind of action.

Love old kung fu movies,don't like the new ones,the old one were special and the choreography of the fights were a masterpiece!I got over 70 old kung fu movies in my collection.favorite actors like sammo hung,yuen biao,Gordon liu,the Venom mob,Hwang Jang Lee,Jackie chan,leung kar yan,,so many great martial arts actors.

Ghost Shark Watch IT from 1973...new good ones are rare-..everywhere waterdrops in slowmotion for example..but it’s all more China than Hong Kong that we must not forget..and the Directors & Actors needs to eat...now we have a little Ip Manploitation.Times changes we changes movies changes

The rooster, the mantis, the tiger, the blows fly in all directions, in the kung fu fighting technique the arms and legs become deadly weapons. All this wealth, however, is dominated by the rooster, the chicken style that is not only beautiful but also deadly.

The woman kung fu kung fu was better than the young hero. More powerful, faster and more precise than he was. And she is really an ideal wife, everybody in the movie agreed.

Yes Lung Fei deserves some recognition. He is one the key figures in kung fu movies. His charisma and presence as well as impeccable gentleman style are undeniable. Yes he always plays the vilain. Here he fights more than in most of his movies and his ability to do choregraphy is surprisingly good, also his stances and positions are excellent and solid. Chicken fist is usually a joke kung fu but here very credible.

Very nice classic Flick with some cool characters,good story,good training sessions and cool fight scenes ! only thing i did not like,was that the star character,took ages to act in the end vs the villain boss.

Description says it all ! Nice part was Hsiao Hai spent the first 2/3rds of the movie fighting his girl friend mantis expert adding to the other fighting going on as he is still learning style from Lung Fei. Lung Fei did a great job displaying the Chicken style. Lung Fei is challenged by another townee and his men Ma Cheung and Cliff Ching Ching. Lots of good kung fu in this one !

Loved this film as a kid, a pity they didn't do a follow up story if Shao Hi married Ho Wah or they went their own separate ways and does Ho Wah resent Shao Hi for not intervening while her dad was being killed.

I’m from Boston and our China Town use to show those Movies and watching them today is not the same !!! Though you can get most of them on KZfaq, it’s not the same!!!! Thank you. Amid the idiocy... I see white horses: simplicity, discipline, precision. The simple mind and open heart will progress more readily when aligned properly. This movie is about two lineages coming together & defeating a common foe. There is ritual, tradition, courtship. Wong Fei Lung-a great role...and his form, Chicken Fist-the culture is very organic and admirably portrayed. Call me a sucker for stupid because somehow it feels good and can absorb useless tidbits. Shao Hai is like Vedic < Naciketas >

It’s a good movie but the main character is a Simp his Master/Teacher trained him, respected him, gave him a nice leadership position and he throw that all away for a girl that’s mean to him, fight him, insult him, and make fun of him well he was nothing but nice to her during the whole movie
