Tune #2 is "Pine Top's Boogie Woogie", which in the alternate take of the 1928 record, was titled "Pine Top's Truck". This is because to "pitch a boogie-woogie" in slang, meant to throw a party; the "truck" was a dance step that later became more popular in the 30s. The original record, revived in the mid 30s, was responsible for popularizing the term "boogie woogie" as applied to this, and similar, blues basses. Thanks for posting these great arrangements, and the organ is nicely in tune!

Andrew Barrett Hey- it’s Anthony (Tony) Simpson from the Central Park Carousel! I remember you well! Any idea where Bill Black’s w-180 recording was done? I have the cassette, as it’s never been put on cd.. speaking of cassettes, the tape I gave you years ago was a mix of various band organs that Carlos Colon at Flushing Meadow, NY had put together- mostly Gavioli I think-I identified some but not all of the titles! I still love carousels and band organs. My wife Eileen Golden and I have an art business and store in San Pedro, CA. Our Instagram is eileen_golden. We’ve been living in Hollywood since 1996. M38Ruth, there are only 3 180's left. There's one at the Victorian Palace, One owned in a collection in Texas, and the last one in the Nevada City Music Hall. Good thing you made it to the private collection 180!

What about the 180 owned by Jim Wells in Fairfax,Va just outside Wash DC.Inknew this man-he had other organs he rented out.Jim was playing his 180 on the Mall in Wash DC. He abstained the organ from an auto museum in Murdock,S.Dak. Has his instruments changed hands sine then?

Seriously. I want to see this organ in person. As soon as I go to america I will contact Steve Boehck and Alan Bies and ask them so I can film it, or even get a hold of it myself and if I ever do, even if it's extremely unlikely it will be the only 180 in the UK.

suggestion: encase that computer controller (midi) inside an ornate case that matches the organ.

Should you take that midi box & put a proper facade on it so that it matches the architecture of the Band Organ?

Is this organ being operated from a MIDI system? It doesn’t sound as though rolls are being used. Thanks for the upload.

RWBHere. Yeah the whole organ is midi because there is a midi control attached to the organ.

In this video the organ is being played by MIDI (the controller is under the right set of piccolo pipes) but it can also be played off the roll frame by APP/Caliola rolls.

Yes it is playing MIDI but it does play Caliola scrolls
