Viewer should be ready for some very eccentric, bizarre, and elaborate special effects. Cast is outstanding. Not your every day old school bare knuckles type of film. Just a heads up to those looking for one.

This is indeed a rare classic when such a great movie is finally dubbed in English. Adam Cheng as Chor Lau Heung is actually a Cantonese movie. NOT Mandarin. But to have this in English is a rare gem. Thank you for uploading this once-in-a-lifetime classic.

Phenomenal acting by both Adam Cheng and Brigitte Lin in the romantic scenes , very natural never posing and overdoing it. As she is beautiful the comments will be on her but he is amazingly supporting her beauty by his natural classical acting, perfection in both actor in these moments of love between them, my new favorite love scene of all time. Background classical hit instrumental works very well.

i used to love watching adam Chen, Chu Liu Xiang, not sure about the spelling, drama tv shows. Later on, they make movies. a lot of great hong kong tv-shows. Can't even remember when or the title. so long ago.

this movie is debauchery of the mind, lol. But my take is the chinese tried to imitate Japanese fantasy movies around that time and outdo the unsanity. It's has similar elements of irrational, magic, ruthless graphic killings and sensual etheral like women in the middle sometimes murderess. Chinese always copy.

@@goognamgoognw6637 This was based on a wuxia novel by Gu Long (Assuming so because the main character is Chu Liu Xiang). Everyone of note in his novels have some sort of superhuman martial art ability and those usually didn't translate well to late 1970s/early 1980s budget effects. Admittedly this one is a bit crazier than most films based on those novels. Most large studios such as Shaw Brothers used animated beams and camera lens tricks whereas lower budget productions usually had to make do with colorful LSD lighting.

When I first moved to London I got a job at blockbusters video on the Fulham high road..around the corner from where I lived. All the other staff use to get irritated with me cuz I’d always be playing these old Kung fu movies all the time. They couldn’t understand why I liked them. Anybody on here a native Southern Californian? Well those of you around my age(48)...remember channel 5/KTLA had the “Kung fu theatre” on Saturday afternoons?? they’d show usually two films if I remember right. My love of these films goes back to the fifth grade! And I’ve loved them ever since.

you are noob, try to read the novel "Flying Dagger Series" then you understand why dog killed..." its make sense which mean the bandit is warry about situation and cruel, animal is killed what about man. but the oldman is very clever to be pretend blind. he gambling with his own neck when he passes the sword. then the bandits belief that he is just an ordinary blind man. Thats the point you must make enemy belief what they see.
