Wuthering Waves is not just a gacha game, no, it's a way of life, one does not simply wuther their waves, one must wake up every morning wishing they could wuther better and wave further, one must dedicate their life to mastering the waves so they may wuther and the wuther so they may wave, one must be thankful to the Kuro for granting them their daily wuther and pray that the next day they may still wave, I love wuthering waves, it has changed EVERYTHING in my life, if wuthering waves has 1 fan, I'm that fan, and if wuthering waves has no fans, it means I've ceased to be, there will never be another wuther to wave quite like wuthering waves, the day I die I will be wuthered in a casket made of waves in the soul beneath Camellya's feet, only then shall I achieve peace, knowing my body has returned to its rightful place along the wuthers that wave.

This video exists in hopes that it'll heal my terminal wuthering so I may re-purpose both of my remaining brain cells to make more scripted content The doctors said this method had a 3% chance of working, and that sounds like great odds to me! Regardless, feedback is and will always be welcome still So, what's "wuthering" anyways? (Wrong answers only)

About the Banner system , the best one for me is from Nikke : Goddes of Victory. Evry single timed banner character are put in the permanent banner (exept collab one and seasonal one) and you have a Wishlist system where you select 15 character that you are sure to drop in the permanent , so you cxna control your pull easyly.

I didn't even think about the wishlist system, I experienced it in AFK Journey and I think it's a wonderful idea, especially as the banner gets more and more crowded, good call!

i don't think it will have an exploration like tof, since it's an mmo, it's designed to be played like infinitely? but a single player game like this- a mount like inferno rider is enough imo..the game is new so it also need to balanced out to avoid speedrunners finishing all the content on one sitting and complain that there's nothing to do...even now we're not even lvl 90 chars but some ppl already have perfect echo...i think they will gradually remove some limitations when there's really new contents and events on the future patches...And also single player gacha game isn't supposed to be played 24/7 anyway

I wouldn't expect to get ToF levels of movement, and I definitely wouldn't want a mount, but the grappling hook is already in the game, I just wish it behaved like one without needing the floating points, but that's just a personal thing. As for perfect echoes and stuff, new echo sets are inevitably going to get added over time, along with more characters to give those to, so that'll naturally give players more than enough reasons to keep farming echoes, but if the experience is actively frustrating to the player one time, over time people will lose their patience with it, so I do hope they make it a LOT easier to get a "usable" 43311 set, mainly the 3s. As for playtime, I think they cooked with the way Echoes encourage you to play without DEMANDING you to do so, it's a good balance between having something to do without feeling obligated, and I hope they find more things like that to add as the game goes on.

@@Miredio i also wouldn't mind if they buff the grapple, but if it's to the point where i can grapple anywhere, wouldn't that be too OP? like future echos that have niche uses like giving u more verticality boost would lose their uniqueness? or they become less important, new tech that has been discovered(triple jump, mega jump) would be a bother to learn if u can just wait for ur grapple's CD and do it in one tap...it would lose some technically fun traversal method and i wouldn't like that...for the echo yes it really needs more improvement, in my experience tho, i got most of the mains stat that i want and mostly the problem is the xp and tuner so i don't really have that much gripe when it comes to getting the usuable set and I'm only playing like 3-4hrs per day(for now, i might be jinxing myself 😂) and for casuals i don't think they would really be that serious when it comes to min-maxing...

​@@hei4676 I'd love a grapple, but I don't mind what form it comes in, be it a gadget, a character or an echo In terms of actual practicality tho, I had an idea I forgot to mention in the video, which is to have a split between combat/out of combat echoes All the best combat echoes are awful for traversal (except for rider) and the herons (which enable more jumps) are only electro/aero so you have to sacrifice your damage output if you want to experience the peak of the game's movement, and I just don't think that's necessary If they make it so you can assign every character 1 additional echo that WONT have any effect to your stats but will let you use it OUT OF COMBAT you could do something like running 2 herons and 1 rider without having to gimp your combat capabilities. It's QoL that I believe should be harmless enough The resource drought in this game is REAL and I really hope they don't intend to fix it by having 2x events, I don't like them because it feels like I'm obligated to spend my waveplates on them or else I'm just misusing it, I'd rather they lower the cost of everything or make waveplates more abundant so the current costs don't feel as bad. Mind you, I'm struggling even though I'm only building 1 team and recycling their stuff to make team 2, the idea of making 3 whole teams with these resources (which have been proven to not get much better in the next SOL phase at 50) is just nuts and I feel heavily discouraged to try out new characters knowing how much time and investment it'd take to catch them up

@@Miredio the extra echo for mobility is really good suggestion, like there's a button where u can manually switch between your combat echo and mobility echo, and if you're on combat it'll automatically change to combat echo and vice versa, bro that would be soooo goood... and yeah they really need to reduce the waveplate cost esp there's an endgame that need multiple teams...i failed to see how really scarce it is cus i didn't consider building it for endgame with multiple teams, but only as casual building teams

You have an interesting perspective and made alot of good points, i agree with some while having gripes with others, but i dont want to make this comment too long so i'll only respond to a few. 15:20 Understandable concerns, there's a difference between a dev who truly wants to make a good game, and a dev who only appears to be at first to hook in loyal paypigs then stop trying after they got the addicts they wanted. How will wuwa turns out later? Only time can tell. I don’t have blind faith in kuro like some others do. 24:55 I think Taoqi is very underrated & misunderstood. - Def scaling characters are late bloomers, since they receive less from echo & weapon compared to Atk scalers, the stats they gain from levels make up a bigger chunk of their total stats, they will perform much better in endgame once you get them to lv90. They also lack a good 5* weapon, I don’t think we’ve seen the true potential of Def scalers yet. - Taoqi’s main source of dmg is her forte’s timed counter (3 hits combo after a heavy attack parry). This is considered as “basic atk dmg”, so shouldn’t her c6 boost this too?/

My concern with Taoqi is less about how hard she hits and more about how restrictive her design is Her constellations help her damage, which is nice obviously, but the point I was trying to make is that constellations in Genshin had a tendency to open up MORE options for a character rather than just boosting their existing ones Taoqi is a burst damage dealer and at most a damage reduction support (since she can't heal others, only herself), at C6 that's still the only roles she can play, whereas Noelle gains the ability to go from a support to a fully fledged Main DPS when you reach C6 Is it necessary to give everybody more options as they get constellations? No, but if all you get out of them are stat increases, they feel rather uninteresting and much less appealing I actually thought Timed Counters were considered Heavy Attack damage, so that's a mistake on my part, but my point stands that her ACTUAL Basic Attacks don't scale off of her main stat nor do they have any way to do so This makes her basic attacks basically useless compared to any other part of her kit, which is incredibly effective at communicating how she's meant to be played to the point that I intended to use her as Main DPS and started to use her as quickswap without noticing. Noelle and Yuanwu are both DEF scalers with parts of their kit that don't scale off of DEF, but both of them have ways to temporarily work around it, which in turn means you're not forced to do dual-scaling, the bane of any min-maxer The C6 boosting the damage of her basic attacks and heavy attacks is a nice stat boost, but it doesn't solve the problem since it affects both her basic attacks (the part that needs the help) and her timed counters (the part that doesn't need the help) so it doesn't nothing to narrow the gap in usefulness between the two, much less so if you don't invest into your Attack stat (which realistically you shouldn't) I have a few different ideas for how to go about giving Taoqi more freedom in how she's used, but I'll leave those for its own full video, if and when I get around to it.

the only thing I will defend Kiro for is about the rush launch. In China, when you get a license to launch a game, you get a period of time you need to launch it. you cannot launch it after the time limit is up. and unfortunately, their launch period would overlap with Hoyo biggest anticipated game ZZZ, so they have a choice. launch later and directly compete with ZZZ, or rush it out and avoid the direct competition. so I cannot really fault them for rushing the launch

Absolutely, my point was more-so that the compensation we got as a result of that isn't so much an indicator of good will as it is an indicator of the sheer necessity to retain people's good will. I have doubts about their generosity given they were trying to cheap out on their 30M rewards, well after the game's launch, and only after being called out (granted, quickly after) did they make it for everybody.

Well, watched to the end. I pretty much agree with most of your points. Have to say, however, this project is too young and it direction is too unpredictable. I? myself, happy GI player who plays WW mostly out of curiosity, to see what will happen and how it'll going to be after some time. What i see is quite a complicated picture. Combat system is the only system which holds the stricture together. Because when i compare WW to GI, literally everything else i see as inferior. This is all subjective ofc, but this is how i see it. So, what should developers do? Concentrate efforts on combat even more, because any form of combat will become stale after a while.. Or hire a good composer and good writer to make it story a story finally? That's a question. I personally leaning toward 1st option. It seems the playerbase mostly crazy about combat. And because this is a core base, better keep tham happy.

Every part matters, I made the point that Genshin fumbled the bag in that they neglected too many things people cared about, and I hope WuWa doesn't do the same. Their combat is already stellar, all they need is more gamemodes or ways to experience it If they can pick up the slack with the story/music and retroactively fix the 1.0 story later (since honestly it needs it) I think they'll do great in the long term

the game is still on 1.0 version lmao let them cook, currently kuro games showing that they are listening to players feedback. in my opinion you should not play the game 24/7, its a gacha game just play casual, if you really like to be grindy then mmorpg is your game. and also, their character design are amazing, i hear no one complaing about the character design..

I'll definitely let them cook, but my kitchen has known the horrors of many bad cooks before them... I definitely wont advocate for the game becoming a sweatfest, but completely ignoring the sweaty side of their playerbase, especially whenever they're perceived (Whether they like it or not) as a sweatier genshin is not an option for them, so I hope they strike a good balance between giving the sweats something to do and making sure the casuals don't feel obligated to measure up As for character design, it's grown on me, but I still stand by the fact that it doesn't measure up to MHY, I haven't quite been able to fully grasp why though.

I don’t see this game hitting the two year mark. It’s combat is good but as they make characters more and more powerful to keep people pulling in a skill based game, they can either make the game loose it’s appeal because people are too OP or make the bosses so hard that new players or F2P can’t beat them without investing to the level of hardcore fans. Either way a solid chunk of their player base will erode over time. Genshin is sustainable because the combat is A focus, not THE focus so they don’t need to worry about making the combat more difficult when people are playing anyways.

I'm gonna be honest, if Genshin could make it 4 years this game can absolutely go further than that It actually takes a LOT to kill a live service game, I've seen that with my own eyes time and time again As for how they'll fare, it's hard to tell, but powercreep is a real concern that I honestly should've touched on here, if they mess it up, it's gonna hurt them much more than it would for most other games Every game loses players over time, even Genshin had long before WuWa came out, but if Kuro can manage to find a half-decent balance then I'm sure they'll still have a huge playerbase whenever they inevitably stabilize at a lower point (just like Genshin has)
