I wish there was an archival section to watch all those newscasts from the 1960's 1970's and 1980's again.

Channel 7 is Detroit. They broke the mold when they defined local news and what it should be. We need more journalists like Bill Bonds. I was fortunate enough to be a news intern at WXYZ when I was in university. Yes, they ARE that good. Happy 75th Anniversary, WXYZ!

@@marywooten9722 IF WXYZ should have kept ABC O&O station in Detroit, they should've branded as ABC 7 Detroit, ABC 7 Action News, etc.

Always amusing how many of these personalities from Detroit TV stations like this one and WDIV and WJBK became household names 1400 miles away in places like Yorkton, Saskatchewan. This was due to the CANCOM satellite and its distribution of signals picked up over the air in Windsor and beamed across Canada.

Happy 75th Anniversary!! So many wonderful memories! Is it possible to get a copy of one of photos? I think my Dad is in it. He worked there from the beginning until he retired in 1983.
