I can't get enough of this sort of thing - recovering WWII fighting vehicles in such great shape. Even the second vehicle is fascinating, as it records what must have been a direct hit - a major piece of history in itself. In fact, I'd be tempted to preserve it exactly as it is. Awesome!
@Ferreal924 жыл бұрын
I'm glad there are still people willing to preserve history rather than hide it. Future generations need to be reminded how brutal and cruel history can be and how easily repeated if we forget.
@krazytroutcatcher4 жыл бұрын
History has repeated itself many times over since then. The warmongers have continued their work, all in the name of ‘good vs evil’

Well, you have to be careful because it's illegal in some places to talk about history.
@krazytroutcatcher4 жыл бұрын
l337pwnage Many of us know. I’ve made comments on KZfaq where people in other European countries could be reprimanded just for hitting the ‘like’ button. It’s a disgusting state, and so called “guilty” countries should be able to freely have their say.
@l337pwnage4 жыл бұрын
@@krazytroutcatcher Well, it's coming to the U.S. Trump just signed an executive order making it illegal to criticize a certain nation.
@krazytroutcatcher4 жыл бұрын
l337pwnage I missed that one, I’ve just looked it up. I’m in the UK, and it looks like Boris Johnson is doing the same. Some city councillors have been critical of that country, including boycotting them. It was said a couple of weeks ago it was to be made illegal.

Great work from all of you guys, thanks for rescuing and preparing another piece of history for us to look at and learn from ! I keep my thumbs pressed and wish you all the best for restoring it - maybe even getting the 250 back in running condition ! How almost 130 people can ever dislike this is completely beyond me !

A friend of mine goes on 'TREASURE HUNTS'. They would take Military maps from WWII. An for several days, would look at the tank routes.They were fortunate enough to find a GERMAN ARMY in retreat from the RUSSIANS. It was just during a winter snow fall that turned worse!! They found 17 tanks that had stopped in the ice of a river. MK111 AND MK1Vs!! They recovered most of them. They were sealed up by the crews ,as they had expected to recover them.NEVER DID! An under-taking that paid off! They were in almost perfect order since 1943! AMAZING! They are now sitting in ENGLAND , waiting to be in a museum,or movie studio perhaps!My friend has a dozen (still in crates), WWII Japanese aircraft, found in a couple of caves! He still has them in storage last I knew. Love these recovery vids!! THANKS!! Naples,FL.(S.W.Coast).

Great recovery. But additionally removing those 1/2 tracks stopped them from polluting the river water later on when corrosion caused oil leaks from the engine, transmission and gear box. Good job and great use if your equipment plus the amphibs prop wash to move sediment.

Looks like the Kfz 7 might have been towing the Kfz 250 back for repairs when they both got dumped in the river. Note the starboard side track of the 250, which is missing the idler wheel and the track has been shortened and routed over the remaining wheels. This was common practice in German armor recovery.
@Feiora5 жыл бұрын
that Kfz 7 looks like it might have been on fire before going into the river? That hulk's interior was awfully blackened... (or rather what was left of it. Plus the entire front of the 7 was missing, whereas the 250 more or less was intact... What do you think?
