My husband was an over the truckdriver for over 20 years and he totally agree with you when we watch this. He said Wyoming has always been that way.

That is one reason I got out of trucking for good. Tired of DOT officers reaming you over nothing and taking your hard earned money for the state or government that sometimes your even working for; hauling their stuff. But one thing I learned was to be smarter then them and I know what they should know even when they don't so I can use their own laws against them. Sounds like Wyoming! I've had the same riga-ma-row happen to me... VIN in a logbook? What about the guys like us that are in and out of 6 different trucks every week on the farm/ranch/road? Guess we run one for each truck :) haha

Those trucks pretty common here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 Those Forklift/crane are awesome, I use them alot to load my trailer with shipping containers. What I don't like about polystyrene blocks I've found is you have to keep pulling down on the straps due to the polystyrene compressing during the trip...lol

In the UK we have Tachographs fitted that record all the trucks movements, at start of shift each driver has there own card with all there details which you insert. You have to show 15 mins of other work before you start your drive so they know you have checked the truck/trailer, then most change to drive as you move the truck. You have a chair mode to show breaks and all speed and mileage is recorded on your card and the chip in the Tacho. It also shows any movement when a card is not inserted which you have to have a reason for. Every 28 days you download the truck and every week the driver card it shows any speed over 60 mph and the trucks have a limiter fitted at 56 mph. You can get fined if you go over 60mph if they are picky also if you go over your drive or work time, and for not taking enough breaks or daily rest. The only job you can do where you could end up in court if you don't keep your speed and records clear.

Back in 1990 I got pulled over in my lowboy hauling a excavator out of Seattle, cop asked for my license and all I had was a learner cdl I was supposed to have a cdl driver with me but the cop says is this legal and I said would I be hauling a excavator on the freeway if it wasn't, he says OK drive safe. I was dumbfounded, he didn't now the law,lol😅😅 so I know what you're talking about 😅😅

I tell ya Jackson,I've been trucking for close to thirty years in a few different kinds of big rigs and I don't think I've ever seen more than 6 miles to the gallon. The truck I drive now is a 2021 Freightliner with a Detroit in it and she's getting 5.2 right now. I guess I'm a bit of a lead foot. Lol

Hello from Miles City. One thing about you Jax is that you keep it 100%. Blue2 is very cool. When I had my truck and doing paper logs,I had to list pre-trip, mileage through each state, on duty not driving when fueling, and post trip, but never a vin number just truck number. There is a song and I think you may have sang a little of it lol, called "The Highway Patrol" perfect for this video. Anyways stay safe and continue keeping it real. PEACE.

Love the cabover. Yup you have to play the game when the law has you on the side of the road . My brother seen one of his trucks stopped by the motor carrier officer so he stopped in his pickup to see what's up . The young officer got a little smart with him . By the time my brother got done teaching him about trucks and truck law all he wanted to do is get back in his Tahoe and leave . He reminded him that he works for the tax payers of our state and he wasn't going anywhere until my brother was done with him .😂

I've only ever used the UNIT# of my tractor/trailer. Fuel permit was never my issue because IFTA. 2016 Mack CH613 PINNACLE Lease tractor. Constantly got stopped in Fort Morgan, CO.

When I drove OTR for 5 yrs, I once went through a road construction area in your situation with the chicken coop in the zone with no cones / no signs for directions to get to it. There for they are technically closed. I ran on paper & never did put down the miles to fuel stop , just when you stopped to shutdown for your 10hr brk. ,9.4 for running empty is pretty darn good. Just imagine what you would get if you did a tune up, check your fuel pump pressure,check the turbo out to see if the bearings are getting play, how black the gains are on the exhaust side & so on.

The warnings sometimes are worse than tickets u cant find them

I use to pull a 38 foot Frameless End Dump… Hauling hazardous waste out of Greybull, Wyoming… and they the Highway Patrol didn’t like us because in New Mexico There’s No law on safety protectors on the back axle of the trailer… and they said the law went into effect in 1953 and there the only state that honor’s it

You had me dying laughing at the story with highway patrol. In my opinion I feel like all law enforcement needs to be properly trained on DOT. Otherwise, they should have to call in and get someone out there that knows the laws.

I got a D.O.T check down in Colorado, about 150 miles South of Denver in the Rocky mountains. electronic E logs general check. He couldn't even read it he wouldn't to know where I had asleep at. I'm like really, you can't read that.

I am dying here laughing about your encounter with Wyomings finest! Seems like in 37 years nothing has changed. Not Wyoming. Not the truck drivers. And not the I know, but I will keep my mouth shut so I can get out of here! LOL Yes, I wrote my seriel # on my log book. XXXXXXGL. Do you know how many times they told me that was an incomplete seriel number and I had to explain to them that the truck was a Glider, hence the GL? Rapid City POE decided I wasn't being truthful and actually walked out to the truck, climbed up on the step, so he could visually inspect the door jam for the seriel number. And there it was XXXXXXGL. As I was merging back on the interstate I wiped the sweat from my forehead. Ol boy didn't ask one question about where is the co-driver I was logging. Nor did he ask where the passenger seat was for the truck. If he had asked I would tell him the truth. It rattles too much so I took it out. Good times. Thanks for the memories!

Sounds like it was about as good of a stop as possible. Anytime you get away from a stop with just warnings is a good day. I don't truck, but they were doing a drug sting on I70 in Kansas and just passing through in our car with my little utility trailer made me nervous they would find something to get me on.

One night back in 1984 they hated my skillet face too Brother.. but only because they clocked me at 107 ... WHOOPS !.. THAT one was expensive ! 😂😂

That trooper would have a coronary here in Texas with all our insanely poor condition trucks and trailers on the road. We have a bunch of truckers who drive absolute wrecks and somehow stay on the road.

Been a long time since I had to fill out a log but when I did I had to put your miles in for each state, im on east coast so maybe its different.

I have NEVER put a vin on those logs. I've put the truck number on it at most. meanwhile with elogs they just dont seem interested the second after it says how many hours remaining..
