i believed that to be true. however, i found out both of cams didn't loop. this is the type of camera you need to constantly check if loop recording is working properly

You can actually look on the website and they have different ideas from people who have mounted them outside. Using 3D covering to keep it from getting wet etc. I saw one where someone used a birdhouse and just mounted the camera inside. It was pretty interesting. Hope that helps you until maybe they make one that is supposed to be used outside. But from the reviews I read, these ideas seem to work well on the camera and didn't cause any interference or problems even though technically it says it's not to be used outdoors.

Lynda E Linda I am in the security industry and have access to all grades of different cameras. These cameras are extremely impressive for cameras at such a dirt cheap price. There are a couple of issues you can address to circumvent both the deliberate power outages and the vandalism of your vehicles. First you simply need to buy what is called an uninterruptible power supply(The same type that is used to keep your computer from crashing during a sudden power outage). I would advise you to get a good one that will last for the duration of the time it would take the people to be caught on video. If you can’t afford One large unit you can daisychain two or three smaller ones together. Also putting a camera that has infrared illuminators on them inside of a window looking out will reflect the infrared illuminators off the glass back into the camera and will not provide you any good video. You could use some small pieces of electrical tape to place over the illuminators therefore illuminating the problem. Otherwise you would have to run the cable to where the camera is mounted on the outside of the window glass as discreetly as possible so that it will not be readily discoverable by the perpetrators who could steal your camera and make off with the memory card evidence.

It's not supposed to be, but I found a website that shows people's ideas of how they have covered the camera to use it outside. Like 3D covering and even a birdhouse! Very interesting and did not seem to bother the camera

Yes. It has a memory card slot to store locally.

They now offer continuous cloud storage on a 7 day repeating loop, if memory serves me, for around $2/cam per month. Not totally sure of the monthly charge.

You can keep watching the livestream through the app, I guess I'm not sure if there is a time limit to that feed. You can flash the firmware and turn it into a webcam if you wanted to use it for streaming.

So if you have the app are you able to hear people talking to the camera?

You’d need WiFi for a live view and cloud storage otherwise use a micro self card

@@phunkfarm it’ll need to be connected to wifi network. Talk with some of your contractor buddies and find out what cameras they use to monitor a build site

I Just hooked mine up and had the same problem The fix was to shut the app down completely and restart it again. If that doesn't work redo the set up sequence again: pressing the button underneath, and let the camera reread the code box. Once you get it up its very cool...specially for the price. Good luck.

I would agree with the other posts. You probably just have it set up with 5g internet that most smart home devices dont work with.

@Anthony Soza Most providers offer dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz, however depending on how you set it up you could be getting either or. You could have it separate allowing you to choose what bandwidth you need for what. This can be troublesome for some who dont understand the difference between the two or know how to properly set up their smart home devices.
